Xbox One or PS4?

Xbox One or PS4?

I personally dislike the idea of the fee to play pre-owned games. Guess we have to wait a few weeks for E3 and see which one comes out on top :)

The industry has been heading that way for a long time, buy a pre owned game now it's a 50/50 shot you'll be stiffed for a tenner to play it online.

Anyway, going back to the topic at hand, I'll see how it pans out im pretty heavily invested in the current generation got my 1st 360 on launch day had about 5 more since (only one was due to mechanical failure) and I also have had a ps3 for a few years. The one thing buying a 360 at launch told me was don't buy a console at launch, there are no actually good games and you end up buying everything that comes out in the hope one of them will justify the outlay. So I'm very much sitting at wait and see especially with gta5 coming so close to the lauch can't imagine people queuing up for one to ditch consoles that'll play probably the most anticipated game of the decade for consoles that can't. Forza 5 would be s draw for me but you can bet my steering wheel won't work on a one and neither will my sennheiser earphones also not seeing anything wow yet..it looks very nice but the jump isn't as big as say gt2 to gt3 and ps1 to ps2.

Woo fanboy gifs have started even before the full specs are revealed. .wheres karbine when you need him for un biased info on the capabilites of both consoles? Don't suppose you could un ban him and send him an invite to participate?

Not sure where the advantage lies over a normal pc in that in can still be rendered obsolete quickly by new releases that outstrip it's capabilities and require an expensive upgrade but as it's a small box you'll probably have to buy a proprietary upgrade that costs more than an equivalent pc card so it'll fit...

I'm not one to slate consoles, but everyone knows PC's will always outdo consoles by their fast development of better graphic cards, yes new cards more money, but for those hardcore pc gamers that doesn't stop them does it? :p

I think the speculation on the Xbox One is suppose to be RRP £350 but don't quote me on that cause that could be an unreliable source...

you misunderstand what I was driving at, which is how is an upgradeable computer in a box (steam box) any different from what a pc already is. It doesn't have the advantages of a console I.e.you buy any game thats for the format it will play. Yes it is upgradeable but the chances are bits for it would cost more than standard pc bits..unless it shares standard pc bits which kinda renders it pointless anyway..

Only explanation for its existence is to try and sell a console to people for whom console gaming is a dirty word. Keyboard and mouse is best for shooters, my motherboard is more powerful than your car...my graphics card is bigger than your c*ck etc..which as it has steam branding on it might just work.

with consoles games get designed to run smooth, pcs can get buggy

The thing that allows console games to run smooth is that all consoles have the same hardware and operating system allowing developers to push to the edge of what the hardware can do without worrying about it because they know exactly the spec they are designing for.

This steambox doesn't appear to have that, you can get different specs, you can load your own operating system, will developers program for the highest spec with the best optimised operating system? Or the most numerous? Will all games work on all boxes to an extent? Or will those with cheap machines be excluded? It's reading that its neither a console or a pc...but has disadvantages of both

Surely it's more likely due to the fact they they only have one main job to do - run games and related software instead of having to deal with boobie videos and facebook :D

Seriously though I used to mainly use my PC for gaming back int day as the game genres were more widely available, but I really think the PC has taken a serious back seat to the modern gaming console - I just wish console developers would stick to putting more effort into the gaming side instead of clogging it with various different features - you can get a PC to do this or if you are really silly a MAC.

I still run a very early 360 and have never had a problem touch wood (bangs head on desk) but I really am undecided as to which of the new generation to go for.

Forza or Gran Turismo?

If I was to choose it would be the Xbox One, mainly because of all my friends being on xbox live and the fact I like for Forza 4 and want to play Forza 5.
Although all of that is irrelevant because my (Old) 360 is working fine and as I understand it I can get BF4 and GTA IV on this console. I'm not prepared to pay £300 or whatever for a new one anyway :)

Forza or Gran Turismo?

Out of choice it would have to be GT, but I only ever liked them upto number 3 - they've gone too far now.. I really hate Forza just because the control system is rubbish!

It's GTA for me all the way, plus Unreal Tourney (all you COD lot should try it some time!!) but it's like you say - alot of dollar for a new system to play the same stuff once in a while.
