EVE Online!

Ok, I am in the Cistuvaert Solar System, Anwyns Constellation, Verge Vendor system

On Cistuvaert V - Moon 12 - Centre for Advanced Studies School.

I have added 3 of you :)

Well I have now done the first training missions - I am now at the stage where I can pick various agents to get a feel for where I go next...

I will play again this evening, too dangerous in the daytime  I am also deciding what skills to go for, especially when offline.

... In any case, at what stage can we form a FiatForum group or clan or whatever it is they call it!

Thinking about it, I don't really think there are enough of us to make it worthwhile tbh. However, I'm already in quite a good social corp with a focus on mining, missions, incursions and there are pretty much always people online. I'd recommend once you've familiarised yourself with the various things you can do, and are happy that you've got an idea of what career path you'd like to focus on have a look for a corp that suits that style, or if you're not sure apply to join Scarlet Industries and we'll be happy to have you on board :D

From what I've read though, as boring as it can be at times, mining is a great way to get started as it's not only a good money maker but when doing fleet ops gives you a great sense of teamwork and accomplishment. It also seems to be what most of the better top-tier players start out doing as it also gives you a great feel for defensive systems, and what offense is the best counter for certain types of attacks.

For now, I'd say though just to crack on with agent missions of various types for the next few days, hopefully you'll get asked to do the Sisters of EVE epic arc which is brilliant.

I can't really answer the skills question, when I was new I just chucked stuff in my queue without really thinking about it lol. Jack of all trades, master of none ;)

Yeah, fair enough about the clan!

Still not sure about the mining, it does sound a bit boring :slayer: but we shall see, especially after all the pros you posted above.

By the way, just downloaded EveMon and installed it using an API key:

http://evemon.battleclinic.com/index.php

Seems quite useful.

Also installing 'Aura for Eve Online' App onto my phone

Well still working through the missions, taking my time - I am now in a Navitas, although it seems I have 2 of those and 2 Velators for good measure!

I am constantly keeping an eye on my skills though, and log in to keep my skills queue as active as possible.

Still not sure the route I will go down, but I am still on a trial licence and working my way through the agents (y)

So I've just been catching up watching Alliance Tournament XII, and happened to spot our very own @Adrian Bravo running logistics, and doing a damn good job!

It was utterly awesome, best fun I have ever had in a video game. we won 3 out of 5 matches and really should have won our last match If we had chosen the bans correctly to block out that tinker setup. It was our first time in any tournament and we got to the top 17-24 out of 64 teams.
