I thought i would start a thread for those that may be intersted in the next generation XboX, so far going by the name XboX 360.

There's a program on MTV this coming Friday (thats the 13th) that will be launching the new machine. Its on at 8pm and its called "MTV at the Xbox LA party".

The new machine is due out this year and some people think it will be coming with Halo 2.5 pre installed on the HD.

Its going to be fully HD TV compatible and microsoft have told all developers that their games MUST support these high resolutions..

It's apparently going to be wireless controlled and backward compatible with ALL xbox games.
There's loads of other stuff out there about this but this seams to be the important stuff that i can remember off the top of my head.

Yeah, Microsoft may be letting themselves in for more piracy problems with that but they are big enough to cope with it...

yeah, they`ll probably do something to combat it but who knows till it comes out.

Judging by the very small snipets they have given, it's looking amazing

sounds sweet. im gonna use my xbox as a trade in for it as i`ll probably get more for that than selling it on ebay or the paper.

I'm getting my mother in law to pre order one in America so she can pick it up on the release day and send it straight out to me... Beats paying importers prices and it's bound to be out in the USA well before it's released here.

Yeah i've had it since it was released in japan... excellent machine but i find myself playing the PC games more now and i let the Mrs use the PSP...

HDTV compatible? Interesting from MS, I am not sure what we will get from longhorn in that way despite Tiger (Apple) being very much HDTV compatible. Pictures look great!

Sadly few people have HDTVs!

True, as they are not so popular here in the UK i hope microsoft don't leave it out of the pal version... Thats why im getting the NTSC verion to make sure, as I have a HDTV and some of the high def games on the old xbox looked awsome on it.

xbox 1 was HDTV compatible as well, with some games. You could mod an HDTV pack to and output to VGA monitors in the higher res.

Once the new xbox is hacked, i'l consider buying one. I use my current xbox has a media centre, so until the new one can do that - i'l stick with what i have already

Yeah i have the mod chip and 120gb HD in mine but i'm still gettin the new one as soon as its available, it looks too good to miss, i'll just give my son the old one... I'm not gonna have the chip installed next time round as i wanna go back on xbox live and i use the pc as my media centre so theres no need for it.
