OK, I need to buy an FF car, any recommendations. In previous incarnations of the game I've always gone for the Mitsu FTO, I find it suits my driving style quite well and find the handling quite managable although most FF cars are quite easy to drive.

FF car? Always used Hondas. On GT2 you could get a Spoon Integra - lovely!!

Didn't buy GT3 cos of the serious lack of cars compared with GT2 - how many cars are on GT4?

I stated GT1 with a second hand Supra, before moving to second hand GTO's/GT3000's in GT2,3 and 4. I remember using an Integra in GT3 for the Type R event, mainly cos I hate the handling of NSX's.

I thought NSX's handled pretty poor for the amount of power they had too. Not very forgiving. Anybody get the bonus car, the HKS Drag in GT2? WOW! If only it was real. Bet it would eat tyres for breakfast and do the average fuel economyfigure but in GPM rather than MPG.

I can barely remember GT1 & 2. I only remember 3 fairly well, because I started playing it again to prepare for the release of 4.

In answer to the question about cars in GT4. I think there are about 700, although over 100 of those can't be competed with.

The statement about GT3 was wrong though. GT3 A-Spec had more cars than 1&2 put together, but it had been planned as a much smaller game, while the makers concentrated on other projects, in the end they delayed the release and released a full game. That said, little point in getting 3 now that 4 is out, unless you want to get it cheaply pre-owned.

I have to say, i admire all of you patience!!!!

i remember when i got GT3, i think it lasted a day and a bit before the Action Replay cartridge came out!!!!!

hello $100,000,000,000 (y)

The HKS Drag was a cracking car - just over 1000bhp IIRC. Not as good As the Suzuki Escudo - 980 odd bhp and the weight of a Cinq Sporting!! (y)

Neofolis, I heard that there were only about 100 odd cars on GT3. GT2 had closer to 300 IIRC? Oh well, the questions do I buy GT4 or do I spend the money on my Cinq? :tempt: (I've always wanted to use that!)

Money is hard to come by in GT4, you just win the Capri Rally get given a Toyota RSC Rally Car and sell it for about £265,000, and if that's not enough, you just do it again and repeat as necessary. There are more expensive cars on offer, but the Capri Rally is easy, only two races, only two laps each and only one opponent.

You'd be surprised!!

30 quid would go a fair way to sorting my interior!

Actually I'm not that surprised thinking about it. I remember when I had a (don't flame me) Calibra and my mate had an old Mini. I had a broken engine mounting bolt, which cost me a grand to get sorted and he had to replace an entire wing front at the cost of £13.

Vauxhalls are pretty good cars. My old man has a '98 Vectra for work. Had it for 5 years.

My friend's first car was a '90 Astra Starbright. Had it for a few months, bought a Citroen ZX (that's a nice car) and sold the Astra. A week later, the Astra got nicked.

I had Astra/Cavalier/Vectra company cars for a while and they seemed solid and confortable enough, but they are sooooo boring to drive. The Calibra was my own and was better to drive, but I actually wanted a Mazda MX-6 at the time which was a far better drive, but I couldn't find one quickly enough.

Back to Gran Turismo, out of the past 4 events I have completed, 3 of the cars I have been awarded have been variations of the Mazda 6 and to add insult to injury the other event I was awarded a Mazda RX08. How unlucky can one person be, I think I'll look up a FAQ that lists which cars are awarded before I start another event.

I managed the Nurburgring in 8m 06s in my Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car, but I had a few dings on the way, one of which was into that barrier immediately before the finish line, how annoying, could have been sub 8mins. That said, it was only my second lap, haven't bothered again since, so no doubt I'll be able to clock up some decent times once I've had a little more practice and found a killer car with a killer set up.
