First of all are you guys running the ABS? As standard its set to level 1 which doesn't help braking much, however if you switch it off you have to reset the brake balance to something more realistic than 50/50 that its set to as stock other wise you'll lock the rears alot and end up spinning out. Usually run about 6 F 3 R.

Edit to above - soz, not 500bhp - 256bhp
The reason i did this was because it was soooo slow, and i needed to level up quick as i was getting bored - no challenge from this game yet, so i though if i add a load of power i will finish the racer quicker, but of corse this long braking time means im only 4 seconds quicker, expecting 20 sec or so - Long stright.

Yh, abs is on 1, the other car i need to use doesn't have abs rear lock up from a litle touch, 10:1:confused: IF i go 10:0 will shouldn't lock up but not tried this, got bord of the gae, not been on it for a few days now:(

ABS 1 is still abs you won't be suffering the lock ups, its not until you set it to zero that the rear wheel issue arises and makes driving much more difficult until you get the set up right. I have the GT force wheel so I can adjust on the fly but with ABS on and front brakes set to 10 the ABS would trigger immediatley causing you to lose stopping force while it keeps releasing the brakes to stop them from locking. I don't have problems with long stopping distance so perhaps it is abs related.

I decided to spend half of the Cr. on one of my favourite cars built of all time, the BMW M3 E92. I decided to go onto the TG Test Track and tooken Traction Control off and it's fun as anything. And it's more easier aswell.

Managed to use my new know how to mod the suspension on the ford feista (04) with only 156bhp to beat 600bhp on tight curcuit:D Only got into 1st on second to last lap as they were too quick in strights - 8 lap race(y)

Well chuffed with it(y)

Comon lads in 5 years you could have done better than that golf..

Yeah but thats a premium car and a standard car. They have said that they have just taken the cars from GT4 and put them in the game so that more people could drive their own cars. They have also said that it is their intention to make every car a premium car over time. Sony have obviously made them push it out for this Christmas which is why it isn't perfect. Its much more realistic than forza, the only thing that forza beats it on is customisation.

Forza doesnt get anywhere near those graphics

online races are annoying, keep getting smashed into by other people, so the red mist decends. Plus my ford is ridiculously slow off the line so i'm always last into first corner so i have to battle my way through the field.

Quite right you take a premium car and put it in photo mode the graphical quality is impeccable. However you take a standard car and drive it on one of the tracks they knocked up in a lunch break then Forza is better looking. Not debating if it looks better or worse but maybe just maybe they could have dumbed other bits down and given it a single graphical standard given the time they had available.

All I know is that GT5 creams Forza 3 in every aspect apart from, as Matt said, the customisation side of things, but that doesnt really matter because its a simulation game and aslong as you can make mechanical tweaks and alter the geometry etc then thats all that matters.

I'm level 18 and no mechanical damage yet, though I read somewhere it comes later in the game.

I already flipped my Maserati though, managed to get a trophy for it ;).

You get damage starting at lvl 1 (if it starts at lvl 0 - can't remeber, after you level up once)

However this damage is just moving a few poly's out of phase, i crashed at 120 and the headlight just warped a little - lvl 17

Heres some of my photos i've taken. I'm the Buick, Delta, MkIV and surprisingly kart 55!

GT5? (n)

It's taken an age to create this game and the end result is not as amazing as it should have been. I guess, the developers spent too much time at Sony's expense at those track days! Don't get me wrong, I wanted this to be a great game.

Personally, I found GT5 reminds me of GT4. In fact, I've found it has the same bug in it that GT4 had, difficult to explain, but sometimes the mouse pointer jumps two buttons, rather than moving one.

Makes me wonder how much was rechurned from GT4, esp. considering the standard level cars do look just like GT4.

After all the hype, to me, it was a rather large letdown. I find myself going back to NFS Shift and looking forward to Shift 2.

Most of the tracks are quite nice, but far too many elements seem "flat". Even some of the background sounds from the tracks loop far too quickly. Premium cars are quite nice, but far too many Japenese variations.

We've all been led to believe how much attention to detail they "claim" to have spent, yet, look at the Yaris/Vita races. Yes, the car has two names in different places in the world, but on the race screen, it says one name on the graphic and one on the text! Come on, at least be consistent.

The online play seems again, tacked on. The front lobby is missing some useful filters and you can't see the regulations until you've spent ages waiting for it to connect to the game room. I spent more time waiting for the online side than actually playing it.
