well its out on free download, supposedly if you get into the top times you could end up winning the oppurtunity to race for real :slayer: though that's unlikely to happen to me.

it's a one track demo with the chosen track as Indianapolis GP circuit. the chosen car is a Nissan 370z.

currently my best times after one quick session for an hour is 10seconds off the best times for standard and 9 seconds off the best time for tuned.

it "feels" nice to play, the tuned car is relatively tail happy which is nice, but the standard car is a bit wallowy and understeers, and as the Traction control is fixed at 7 it's pretty poor to drive :(

in real life RWD 250bhp cars is the traction control really as intrusive? or is it perhaps esp or ASM as i think it's called in game:chin: either way it's a pain to drive due to the intereference from the "electronic systems":( the tuned version without the "assistance" is a lot easier to control, as you can correct the cars direction with the application of throttle.

It amazes me how they have managed to take something as exciting as driving a car at 150mph around a track and make it so dull....

The replays might look real, but among the likes of Grid / Dirt / Forza / Motorstorm, no vehicle damage is unforgiveable....

Beautiful but boring.....

It will sell bucketloads....(n)

I quite like it. cars "feel" good, but then yeah it doesn't seem as exciting as perhaps it should be, but then 150mph on a wide track isn't that much.... doing 250 down the mulsanne straight in GT4 was quite entertaining though, especially given the bumpiness.

it's more about how the cars handle and getting the lines right, rather than just rushing around for the thrill, and a lack of control. Grid etc are good fun but not really in the same vein, being less about precision, and more about "drifting" to get boosts etc.

There is damage though, not in the prologue or this demo but there will be in the final game.

Hmmm we'll see....I've heard conflicting reports...One of them that it will be only the Race Cars....

Still dull though....But then it's been getting gradually duller since GT2.....

After a couple of hours driving the tuned car Im at 4555th 1.41.100. The current number 1 is at 1.35.979

I know i can get another 2 seconds. I have a long way to go. I only have the dual shock pad not the nice steering wheel.

In the last prologue challange I was in the top 100 for a while. Im enjoying this one you seem to get a feel for what the car is doing.

4 seconds off the best time for untuned last time i was on it (last night), still know where i can shave a second off at least, but as to whether i'll be able to manage to actually do it is another matter.

was around the 2500th place, though it kept going up as people kept beating my time lol.

shaved a second off by changing my entrance to the first corner, kept sliding into it, but entering it slower and keeping it straight meant could get the power down earlier, the worst bits are the two 180 corners soon after the straight in the middle, i just keep understeering or sliding and losing all momentum :(

i'm really gutted i cant enter this one, i dont have a PS3 anymore and i broke my wheel so would be looking at £400~ just to get myself setup.

a proper wheel will help you find another 2 seconds or so

if you fancy lending me your PS3 i'll go buy a wheel and see how quick i can go :D

oh and about RWD cars, i cant speak for all but my BMW TC is very intrusive!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the PS3 has broke again, bye bye saved games and music.

YLOD! getting a new one sent tomorrow for free though, so not too bad, but they wouldn't exchange it for a "slim" one, which seem to have a better cooling.
