a work colleage is thinking of getting DS lite (not DSi) consoles for her two boys. She is trying to bag a bargain.

After a long search on ebay etc she has found a DS Lite console with a card reader with 30 preloaded games. She has asked me if she buys another console, can she copy those 30 games onto it. I've said i think she'd have to buy another card reader and then figure out how to copy the games over. Is this right and any advice?

Also, just out of interest, where are people getting these games from? I have a DS Lite and would be interested to know if you can download games and if so how do I get them onto my DS - do i need a card reader (DS Lite's dont have storable internal memory do they?). Do you download via internet, Wii or some other way?

You'd need another "card reader" for the other one, yes.

Most popular one out here is the R4 chip, costs about £14 - not sure what they go for in the UK.

wellt he card is a standard sort of card i never got mine working tho

R4 cards a good, can play films on it and emulate older consoles and play roms (what i mainly do with it)

just google NDS and ROMS to find the games

Both my sisters have a R4 card, believe it was about £15 each, will ask my step dad tomorrow where he got them from if you would like.

I bought an R4 card from http://www.r4ds.co.uk/ a few months ago, as long as you get one with an SD card included (or buy the SD card seperate) once you have this you will be able to transfer the bundled game files that you have on to the new card.

I get new games for mine off of a bit torrent client but theres plenty of sites that have ROM's avaliable to download!!

yeah i have an r4 card and they're ace. can get loads of torrents etc to play on them. if you get one download all the latest operating software online as some of the more recent games wouldnt work on mine until i had the updates. but for what its worth they are quality.
