Was thinking of getting either a Xbox 360 or PS3, not sure which to get, any ideas?

Swaying towards the PS3 atm because I've always have Playstations and I would be able to get Gran Turismo 5 which isn't on the Xbox! Plus I've never had a Playstation let me down, but I've heard alot about the Xbox's failing.

Recommendations please! Info where to get a good buy would be great too!

Thanks :)

**** GT5. Forza FTMFW!

360 - Controllers are far superior, Project NATAL is coming and Xbox Live is absolutely mind blowing with all the updates.

PS3 - Had one for over 18months, never played on it once. Only use it as a Blu-Ray player. Thats how **** they are :p

Hmm, Forza does look good, my mate just told me the old Forza was crap, is the new better?

People who say any Forza is crap need a slap. I'm thinking he's like my mate who thinks he is a game driving god. But won't go anywhere near Forza because its **** (erm no.....TO REALISTIC!)

Turkey Twislers. lmfao
Ps3 for sure imo, lots of features inc, bigger hardrive and ability to upgrade to 500gb, blu-ray, blu-ray disks allow upto 50gb of game data = amazing games like MGS and GT5, internet browser is a nice little addition, Some exclusive games are fantastic (littlebig planet, killzone2, motorstorm). Free online (not an issue to a lot of people but still great). just a few i can think of atm. oh yeh inbuilt wireless

Ive been having this exact debabte with myself and i cant think of any pros to getting an Xbox only the cons. although the Ps3 is more expensive in terms of straight out the shop... the costs of an xbox soon surpass the ps3 by miles if you want a live membership

ps3:
blu ray
free internet (no need for a live membership)
inbuilt wireless

Xbox:
is older so its probably due a replacment soon (xbox 720?) i know the ps3 isnt young but Ps4 is probably a long way off because the ps3 is still ahead of the same when it comes to technology

I too am in this same dilema.
The 360 works out to be more expensive (online, wi-fi adaptor, hard drive - if you get the cheapest model).
But there isnt anything that really appeals to me on the PS3 except for the BR player.

PS3s can still break, though it just tends to be the original 60gb ones.:( haven't heard of any newer ones but it's still possible.

also sony have taken away features like the backwards compatibility, which is annoying but they can sell you downloads of the ps/ps2 games via the online shop so you can probably see why they done it.

personal preference is the PS3 controller, the xbox one is too big and heavy, and not always wireless, you have to buy a pack to make them wireless.

PS3 is getting plenty of games now, xbox still has more but it's not such a big difference as it was a year or two ago. most games are released on both consoles.

really you need to find out what games you want to play, whether it's forza, or the promised (for the last two years!) GT5. or other comparisons of exclusive games.

im after a slimline 250gb console, that in xbox terms would cost loads!

i hate the xbox controller, im a girl so my hands are too small to hold them comfortably. :( tbh the only ps2 games i'd wanna play are my singstar HSM ones  and tbh i aint bothered about keeping my PS2 just to play them, not like it takes up much room.

now we gotta wait for an xbox fan boy to come into the thread and tell us why xboxs are better... cos i still cant think of any reason why to buy one over a Ps3!

360 is at the limit of what it can do graphics wise now where as ps3 is just starting to get into its stride. PS3 is more expensive to buy when side by side with a 360 but to get your 360 online you then have to buy the wireless adapter for it, loads of batteries for controllers or a charge and play pack where as ps3 charges via usb.

I have both consoles and only really play my ps3 now. People say online is better on 360 but i really dont see the difference. The only reason i still have my 360 is because of forza.

Id just go to game and play both for yourself and make your mind up there as too many people are fan boys with 1 or the other console so you normally get an extremely biased view as to which to buy.

get a xbox 360, they have smoother gameplay, granted the graphics arent wuite as good, but online the xbox is far superior, you also get sky player to. the xbox 720 will just be a 360 with an attachment to make it like an nintendo wii. get the modern warfare 2 version, with a 2590gb hardrive, a limited edition cover a a free copy of modern warfare 2. only 200 quid at game!!!
