Xbox cut off.

i like something i saw on the news... went along the lines of... 'i chipped my xbox so i could copy the games i bought and play the copies not to damage the originals as they cost me a lot of money to buy and wish not replace them because of damage'

yeah... whatever.... i believe you

I couldnt be arsed with flashing my drive so never bothered fiddling with the '360s I have now. have had modded ones in the past but it not worth the hassle flashing them all the time, most of my fave games are older ones anyway so its not worth it for me

Im not preaching though, I do download some wii games for members of the family. But like BBS says, saying they are backing up their originals, what a load of s**t.

@WKD - Your friends time may come.. Not many people actually install chips in them, they just reprogram the flash on the DVD-ROM drive. (unless you have one of those blaster360 thingys - most people use ixtreme). If the hammer doesnt fall this time, im sure it will in the future.

All these people moaning about it though, its hilarious. The only people who I feel sorry for is people who bought some of the Datel stuff that no longer works. Thats harsh..

you see on the old xbox there was an argument for this
the xbox once chipped made a great media centre plus you could rip all your games to the hard drive to save looking for discs etc
on the 360 is doesnt have these benefits
also i find when you have a chipped console you dont get the same enjoyment from a game as they are so easy to get IYKWIM

I know what you mean lol.

I have the same with apps on my iphone. I get them for free so don't care for them:p

You usually get banned eventually like got a mate who has had about 4 different consoles banned they don't ban the gamertag they ban the console so he keeps switching machines.

Not the best Downfall vid tho this is:

back on the xbox 1 i had near every game for the xbox but never really played em
on the 360 i have a handful of games meaning i play em to get my moneys worth.still not played my COD MW2 though

I wont say where I work as it might give away where I found this out from but I have it from the horses mouth so to speak what happened.

The early versions that were available via torrent were actually put there as bait. They had a trace on them and as soon as someone used one of them their xbox live account was flagged. On they day before launch they simply pushed a button and good night cheats!

Some very good reasons for doing this:

1. shows MS as enforcing their rules about not chipping, modding etc.
2. kicks 1.4 million (yes thats right 1.4 million) users off the servers the day before the biggest game ever launches meaning the servers were not over loaded (unlike the psn servers)
3. Its CHRISTMAS! caching everyone has to go buy a new one, or at least another one, oh and pay for another live subscription (i think)

win, win, win why wouldn't you!
