Does anyone know what file type I need to watch films on my TV via my 360 via my laptop? Set it all up, can view the files...but cant watch them
All of mine are avi files and 99% of them play on my 360!
Only the odd one or two dont that require a strange codec! Are you actually using the media centre or just sharing folders out from your PC?
Wanted it use it so I dont have to burn any DVDs to watch them.
Custard...that link...is it for the PS3? got confused because of the name
.avi is oldschool
Real men use 52" Sony TVsBut all the cool kids are using it!

Exactly, don't use crappy .avisIt's not the size, it's what you do with it!
For starters, what size TV are you streaming to?
I don't use .avi anymore, and I prefer the 1080 .mkv rips - but the 360 won't play those unless in the .wmv container or something
Then again, I don't use the 360 to watch movies - I prefer Popcorn Hour

or buy a dvd player with USB
*acquire* films-save to xternal hard drive-plug in to DVD-press play and enjoy
Well it's only Emmerdale recordings! Recorded through my PC, then burnt to DVD, then put through Super and then Videmux to get rid of the ad's!
You have any better suggestions?
