Hi guys,

After my Xbox 360 Premium was taken in a burglary i have been looking at a replacement, i have fount the 360 Elite for £225 with an extra controller and Resident Evil 5, or £150ish for a premium... now my question is the £75 extra worth it for the Elite?

many thanks

Darren

**EDIT** please move to correct place, just realsed put in wrong one :(

IMO Yes! But thats only because its black and my tv is black, the HD is bigger and the components are alot better and quieter.

If you decide against an Elite I would suggest getting the batch numbers to get one with the brand new disc drives and fans ;)

is the elite quieter now aswell? I know when it was first released it wasnt

It is, but saying that with research you can get premiums with almost elite hardware.

My xbox is an absolute bitch. I can't watch anything at night cos I need the TV so loud it would keep everyone awake!

The new heatsinks that they put in the elite would persuade me to get one of them, should delay getting RROD for a bit longer but with a 3 year warranty on them now i wouldn't bother. Just had to buy a new one myself and ended up going for a premium, thats 3 flexbox's i've had now!!

i got mine in 2005 or 2006 and im still on my first one :D

im getting "disc is unreadable" a lot now though :(

Same, got mine in 06 still going strong. Regulary fall asleep with it on aswell. Seen an elite get disc unreadable with Pro alot recently, not just one disc?

Slight Hi-jack, but you know you can plug in external hard drives to play music/videos/films?

Mine did that for a couple of months before they broke, fingers crossed yours doesn't!

I did not know that. I thought it had to be Fat32, I guess Ipods are

You just have to download the iPod drivers off of maketplace to use them (y)

Get the elite....the big HD comes in handy for games installation which means the Disc drive isn't used while you are playing although you have to have the disc in, its much quieter i'm guessing the disc drive last longer that way. Also you get a unique to elite piece that allows you to hook your 360 to an amp/surround unit while using an HDMI cable.

Probably
