LOL Mike, you seen the launch video at e3 with that crazy chinese woman on the stage flailing her arms about. Is this what gaming has come to? lol
And we have nintendo to thank...
The reason I say it is the last time the dash was updated to that fancy crap with the avatars it caused a lot of unforseen errors that increased the number of cases of the RROD.Er whats that got to do with RROD? (not getting at you just interested) They indicate internal hardware failure usually you'll be happily playing a game something will break machine will crash then when you switch it back on the infamous lights will come on after the machine performs a self test (which it does at every start up) and identifies a hardware issue. Do believe there were issues with 360 updates causing hung systems but that was very early days.
There have been fixes for it since it started, but having it done by anyone but microsoft means the warrenty is voided.
My xbox is flashed so no warrenty and I have had the RROD since but a bloke I know sorts it for a tenner, never had a problem since.
Or ring up M$ for the 3rd time for another replacement? What was it that he did? The kits that you get to fix it aren't permanent and will happen again at some point, the only way to fix completely is to replace the offending component and upgrade the cooling for it...
