HDMI cable for the PS3

Hey all

I just purchased a new 80GB PS3 (With GT5P of course)

But, in doing so i assumed (I know bad word) that it came with one

Could anyone help me in the right direction for a good one that i can go buy today?

general HDMI cables rbought from the big stores are extortionately (spl?) priced. best place is somewhere like game:

optical cable is also a good idea when your using HDMI with Surround Sound =)

yep i would say so, never heard of gioteck but it cant be that bad. if it is bad you can just take it back and moan n groan, they give in in the end

Buy them separately from Amazon, for instance, and both will be well under a tenner, including postage...

my xbox elite console came with a HDMI cable it is a bit crappy that the ps3 console is HD but doesn't come with any decent cable out of the box ???

Guys. A geek here from ps3forums.com is here. ME
I can assure you that all HDMI cables do the exact same job and the reason you are made to pay more is the quality of the cable on the outside, you know, the quality of the rubber used and the thickness. HOWEVER, HDMI sends a digital signal. 0's and 1's. Not ANALOG, With digital the data either gets there or it doesn't, it cannot vary (only over around 20metre distances but I doubt anyone here will be using over 20m)
Hope this helps. DO NOT EVER BE TEMPED TO PAY £50 FOR A MONSTER CABLE. IT HAS NO BENEFIT OVER ANY OTHER CABLE. IT IS JUST A BIG SCAM.
