I'm going to be trading in my xbox premuim and getting an elite console for the bigger hard drive and mine is coming to the end of it's warranty, is there a way I can transfer the stuff from my old hdd to the new one?
If you keep the old console as well as a elite at the same time then you can obtain a free cable from MS, basically makes your new drive into a memory card and you transfer you stuff over. But if that isnt going to be the case, then you would need to do what i did and buy a memory card and transfer over the game data.
No we used to have a cable we lent out.....but oddly enough it was never returned so we stopped. But tbf we were a minority of 1 for doing so so won't be possible to borrow one from a shop
IIRC that cable was only available publicly when you bought the 120gig hard drive on its own as it came in the packaging with the cd required to do the transfer. im awfully tempted to get a 120gig hard drive to go on my premium because of the install to hard drive option now available, but the trouble is its £70 at the cheapest :bang:
No thanks been there done that, got the yellow light of death after the 1 year warranty ran out, id rather have the red ring of death and itll cost me nothing to get another one instead of paying £80 to have it fixed.
I just formatted th hdd and traded it in got £85 for it and got an elite with army of two, too human, burnout paradise & another controller for £230 and bought guitar hero 3 as well
