Anyone fixed a SEGA Game Gear?

that looks like alot of effort but didn't know they could **** up in such a big way.. gonna go dig mine out now and make sure it's alright!! had some classic games on there! got my master system somewhere too!!

my megadrive still works, i think a lot of gadgets at the time used these caps and they age badly.

my GG is a mess, nothing on the screen at all unless you hold it at about 95% angle to your line of sight.

tbh its just bin fodder now, as it wasnt something that was bought and kept in a glass box, its been played with and is now 17/18 years old (older than some forum members!) and is showing signs of its age on the case. never mistreated, just well used. (it was my favourite toy)

to me this fix is drastic, but looks relatively simple. Might give it a go, cant bear to bin it

I say go for it, something to do on a long weekend! I think I've got every SEGA console except for the Saturn.. Gonna dig em all out and see if they still work!

only thing thats going to cost me is i need to buy a soldering iron, and an electronics tool kit
