I've never had an interest in it, a mate tried to get me to play it, however it made my laptop go really slow, so I uninstalled it, and couldn't get to play lol.

If your looking for a new bf...I'm single, I can cook (Do you like Spaghetti Carbonara?), I can clean (Please dont do a search for my cleaning of my room thread ), I'm great with kids (if they are quiet, and dont need feeding (unless they are old enough to feed themselfs), nappy changing, thats a no no at the moment .

Its a relationship killer tbh. I had first hand experience of one going sour on me. Met this german girl through another online game lol. Got really chatty on msn :)devil:) decided to meet up. So she came to england to meet me. Stayed at mine for 2 weeks (good times (y)) We hit it off really really well. Tried to chat online as much as we could and see each other once a month. Then she going really deep into WoW. Started chatting less and less online, as she got more and more into the game. Even said I was spamming her with emails all the time. She logged into msn, I tried to say hello, she said she didnt have time to chat, doing such and such dungeon. Relationship fizzled out after about 4 months. Moved on and met a far better girl (y)

Thankyou for that link btw. Ive just plonked my laptop on his lap with the website up and told him to read it. He managed 10 pages and took him 40 mins or so to read so i know he read it and mustv payed attention to what other addicts have said. Im sure i even saw him smile at one point.

Im keeping it for future reference incase he decides to re-install the game and play it ''an hour'' a day.

mmmm, Just this second noticed the poll has changed to 'no an get a new bf'..... nice but who changed that? If i knew you could change it i would of have done it :D lol

The difference with the forum would be you can go on and off whenever you like, would it really stop you from doing something? whereas with the game its like you cant get off it and you have to be playing and progressing forward thriugh the levels all the time.

Im in trouble anyway cause bf has seen thread and isnt impressed with me 'be-littling him'. He since hasnt spoken to me and has been ignoring me with in a right mood all day. He has un-installed and cancelled his account....... trouble ahead.

Best thing that could have happened tbh. I used to love WOW but it never got out of hand.... It never should...

Im a avid gamer but would never put games before my Fiance, he sounds like a moron, you should get someone new.

I enjoy a spot of WoW - have been playing for the last 3 years, though for the last 12 months becoming more casual.

A really immersive game in my opinion. Yes it can be time sink but I just see it as an alternative to TV and stuff.

I play on Argent Dawn RP Server :)

I play WoW regularly (every other night) and have been for the past 2 years- Im in a high end raiding guild, and currently at 79. I do take the occasional break when things need sorting out and doing though, but I will always come back.

Yes, the game can indeed be addictive - but only if you let it. At the end of the day, NOTHING is more important than real life. If you can't get up and walk away when something really needs to be done, then you have a problem.

However, for me, it's somewhat of a life line socially. I moved out to Wales to be with my girlfriend, and moved away from ALL of my friends. Thankfully, 5 of them (out of a much larger pool of friends) all play, in the same guild as me. Out here in deepest, darkest, rural Wales, it is literally my entire social life. Its cheaper than going down the pub, and it's great to play with your real life friends and keep up with how everything is going back in London.

Hi evryone, I'm the guy this thread was aimed at:eek:

Evryone who had a sensible answers to give is correct, and my missus should really have taken the advice given, but I'm glad she did'nt because since I cancelled the account I have sold the charactures off and have'nt played it or anything else since, and have realised what a fool I had been risking the relationship I had with the girl I love and my daughter amongst other things.

I now look at the people I know who still play, and think jeez, I used to be like that, what a looser. I had never really played games before her uncle introduced me to it, and do'nt intend to again, someone in this thread commented that it was like a drug. this is correct. and whilst playing you become oblivious to evrything else around you.

If anyone is thinking about having a go I recommend finding something better to do with your time, like I have been looking for a job, wich is harder said than done, earning a little with ebay and working on my missus cars, I fitted a new engine in her pug (sorry swearing) and have been recently working on her td punto and at the minute it is nearly ready for it's mot.

Rpg(n) life(y)

Thankyou all :)

yep I did that, about 3-4 months before I actually did quit for good I stopped or cut down for a month or so because I was starting to realise what a fool i was being

Problem is those 2-3 hours a day turn into 4-5 and so on till it sucks all your life up again, The thing that stopped me playing was the final realisation that I was going to lose my missus.

So a shock was the decider for me. see wow and many more mmorpg type games do'nt actually have an ending and you ca'nt actually win as such this is where the problems come in and untill you actually do give it a rest you do'nt realise what your really missing out on.

I wish your bro the best and hope he can make the decision to give it up, because it really is a bad addiction.

Thankyou:)

Thats bad, it really could cause trouble with his grades, how much time do'es he spend on it?

with weekends as well, average 4-5 hours a day i think. but then there's an average of an hour of farm work a day, as well.... and yeah he needs to buck his ideas up. He wanted to get into vet school (he's a smart lad), but he can only study zoo-ology at his chosen uni now... and that's if he meets the target grades, which he needs to work a lot harder to achieve than he is atm.

The 4 Magic words-

REAL

LIFE

COMES

FIRST!

I play it a bit, but I do all the other bits of life too. It's just better that Eastenders (for my taste anyway ;) )

Nice one Shrek1345, Blizzard have your money, they don't need your soul!
