I read on several different websites that Sei's and Cinq's will be on Gran Turismo 5 when they finally bring it out.

Anyone know if this is true?

If it is i'll buy a ps3 just for that! :yum:

lists of cars that are going to be in GT5 have been floating around for a while, but seem to be more of a wishlist rather than a real list.
at least cinq owners can play GT2 which has them in. i'm trying to get a tipo into a pc game with little luck at the moment (n) GT5 better have tipos in!

clearly shows a Rally Car with damage, though only briefly. Rallying looks like it'll be brought into it much more WRC franchise, and also Nascar (ok so it's ovals, but when playing with friends of differing ability ovals can be fun)

looked up wiki GT5 [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_Turismo_5[/ame] and it mentions that it is pretty much ready for release, but need timing, so hopefully for xmas?

TBF Gran Turismo has a history of including utterly useless toss (Toyota Prius BMW 120D Fiat Panda 999cc Original Beetle Ford Model T that Daihatsu Midget to name a few) to make up the numbers so I'd never rule any cars in the series up to and including milkfloats....which would probably have their own special 80 lap endurance race with real-time recharging in the pitstops

I do agree with it never being out for Christmas we are still not taking pre-orders for it as you know they still haven't said when its going to be out and its now running at a not inconsequential 2 years late, even the damage patch for GT5 prologue is a year late in 2 months.

damage patch? hmmmmmm.

as for the random cars, it's good fun on a dull day to take a daihatsu midget and get it to over 200mph.:slayer: Fiat Panda was also subject to some "pimpin". also if racing with friends, the lower powered cars can be fun, as tactics to carry speed through corners play important parts. the ones you couldn't even race like the daimler was pointless though.

There was at one point a patch meant to be released last october but never happened.
I know what you mean about the rubbish cars me and my mate used to race toyota prius but tbf if you think that each car takes time and time is finite i'd prefer them to include a smaller number of cars with greater emphasis on quality, good sounds (GT5P has the worst sound effects of any modern driving game) and distinctive handling for each car. Also if they didn't have a ridiculously bloated car list it'd be out by now.

Yeh probably all the patents for the cars? idk, it has been a while though.

Well if you think about the level of modelling its not just the patents on the cars that take time...each car has to be scanned to get a model to put in game then textured so its not just a wireframe then the lighting has to be done, then the same for the interior. Then you have to model the physics and perfomance to go with it which isn't simple for a high end sim and record sounds to go with that,Rinse and repeat 1000 times...(the number some people have said the game will have but 600 will probably be more realistic) then if you're competing with your main rival sort out new licenses that allow damage to be shown...and then do damage models for all the cars you've already done with physics effects and new lighting.

That is the horror that is GT5 for sony...
