Ok, after getting a ****ty trade in deal at blockbuster (£8 for Mercs 2 ffs, after paying £40 two weeks ago).

Does anyone know a way to make it so I can play copied games? I'm getting annoyed paying £40 for them now >.<.

(Btw, if we aren't allowed to talk about this sorry)

Mod it - check out http://www.xbox-scene.com/ for more news.

However, do it at your own risk, and you may be banned from LIVE; there is a massive ban-hammer going on at the moment, in readiness for the new dashboard.

I have kept my Elite clean :)

Thanks :)

I dont use Live, so that doens't bother me, when is the new dashboard out? And can you get it with just Silver Live? If so I might wait until after that.

The new dash is availble to all people. There has been a leaked version out for ages (to which i have been using) but cant access live until 19th. There have been some copies of games floating around the net, a new ripper (believe they go by the name of SEED4ME) i am to believe and if people use these games they have found them self banned.

The dash is from NXE I believe. Seed4Me is being slated on certain forums as well.

I will get it properly, once it goes through the official servers.

Yep, the new dash comes out on the 19th (next wednesday). Many people have got it already tho, Those who signed up for BETA testing about 3 weeks ago get chossen at random.

It also has been stated if someone from the beta testing put there hard drive onto a non updated machine, it would also update that one. If you obtained it this way, you cant access live until the 19th when the NXE rolls out to everyone.

i got a 360 but not on live :( i know stupid uni internet...anyway is there a way to get games without paying for them :) srry if this gets me in bother

Yeah you need to flash the drive and such like just type it into google plenty of info out there. I havnt even got 1 i did but never took it out the box so i sold it and bought a Head Unit for the car pi$$ing off the neighbors with loud music is much more fun.

Better than resorting to piracy, why not wait a few months before buying the latest game. Your patience will be rewarded by being able to pay £10 for a game. Failing that, shop around online. Most of the latest titles can be found for less than £30 within a week of release.

If you don't play on LIVE then there's no real drawbacks to getting a six month old game.

Piracy, on the other hand, does affect lots of people. You're lining the pockets of unscrupulous folk who will not be paying any tax on the income, and you are depriving the developers of income. I lost my job in the games industry in no small part thanks to copyright theft.

Buying second hand doesn't directly benefit the original developers but it does keep people legitimately employed in places like Gamestation, Blockbuster etc.

I know you'd rather pay some dodgy geezer in the pub £5 but c'mon!!

If you send me £35 I'll gladly pay full price for it. And I might be able to get it for £10 in so many months, but I can get it for £5 now ;).

Could you tell me where your getting games for under £30 after a week? Mercs 2 is still £40 at all the places I've been, and thats been out longer than 2 weeks.

If games wheren't so expensive I would pay the prices for them, but at £40 a time, I cant afford new games unless I do overtime to pay for them.

sell the games after dont trade them in.

I used to lose about £10 a game a month.

sometimes i didnt lose any money on them.

but mainly it was buy for £40 sell for £35

I tried selling a few on ebay, but they didn't sell, plus I tend to do alot of impluse buying, so its hard for me to sit down and order it and then wait .

I like hotukdeals, I got COD2 for £5 when COD3 was newly out from there, although at the time I thought it was COD 3 .

What place would you say is good for selling games online? Apart from ebay.

I just keep an eye on http://www.hotukdeals.com
Most days is a post where games are available dead cheap.
Example, recently Morrisons had a £25 offer on all chart games - inlcuding Mercs2, but it has now expired.

Blockbuster is where I tend to buy my games. And yes, you do have to wait before they drop in price, much like you have to wait to get an unaffordable brand new car second hand. Patience is a virtue.
