yay for microsoft:)

that was decent of them., and to think i was gonna rip my 360 apart and tinker with it.,lol, now its back in warrenty.,:slayer:

yeah they can be good sometimes, i remember when the original xbox came out it was around 300 at laucnh, few months later they reduced price by about 100. and if you had paid the earlier big price and coudl prove it they sent you games and goods (joypads) to make up for the extra you paid.

not sure abou the drive thing seems like it may be specif extension to deal with the three light error, but worth asking :D.

300 quid? it was near 900 over here at launch., was a joke., but good of them to send people stuff to make up the difference., i remember the recall on the power leads aswell, they had mine out to me really quick, within a couple of days and came from the neatherlands iirc.,

HMM but will it cover drive failure. Mines starting to have real difficulty even knowing what type of discs are in it, nevermind loading them.

i would be surprised if its alimited warrenty.eg i would expect anything covered now in the 1 year one to extend into 3.
@ luvduvs its all over the net, many issues on the 360 but mainly can be attributed to poor mobo cooling/heatsink assembly

Well I saw this at a shop today (embarrassing IMO):

those are used and abused consoles though,, cant see why it would be imbarassing really., have you ever felt the controller on one of them? they completely smooth and shiney for the amount of use they get.,lol

Yeh but they should have at least turned the thing off so they won't turn potential buyers away..

Well at least Microsoft was responsive enough to extend the warranty - something perhaps Fiat can learn from? :chin:

Exactly - which probably explains why they suck at customer service.

my dvd drive kept ramdomly jamming and after taking it back to dixons (currys digital) i now have another brand new. :woot: still noisy though, was hoping i got one a bit quieter.

console no1 2nd dec 2005 - died of 3 red lights
console replaced sept 2006 warranty job (straight swap) disc tray jamming
console replaced july 2007 warranty job. (straight swap)

have to say they have been really good for me. (y)

Got 3 red lights followed by a red and black chequered pattern on screen while playing Forza 2.

Will be sending it back in the next day or so. Current repair time is 25 (working, I think) days.

where did you buy it from and is it under warranty? seems strange dixons just replace there and then but you are all having to send them away?
