Nice to see someone recommend that oneFEAR and FEAR expansion are still my shooters of choice. stylish, loads of action, suspense, it got too scary at times

I don't like BF, it's not a game with a storyline. You get on a map, try to win, respawn constantly and then either win or lose. Unless 2142 is different?
I've looked up FEAR etc. - I prefer 'realistic' games rather than monsters
I would like to get Rainbow Six Vegas but I can't find out if my laptop GPU (PCI-E 6600 go (?) has "shader 3.0") - if not it simply won't run
Has a new Ghost Recon come out after GRAW? I really liked that. There was a game like COD, Brothers in Arms, MoH etc. that came out about 4-5 months ago but I can't recall the name

Call of Juarez requires a very good PC to run smoothly though so try the demo first. It is a good game but I am waiting for the 360 version of it for the stable frame rate as I use my laptop for all my pc stuff now.

Call of Duty 2 on PC is made by a different developer than any of the Call of Duty 3 games on the consoles.
However "Call of duty 4:Modern warfare" is made by the people who made Call of Duty 2 on PC, so give that a go when its out

BattleField 2142.
You'll love the tactics, stratergy skill and all out madness of it all. It is the best FPS I've ever played. Maybe because its all online and against real people and there are so many multiple manned vehicles to drive/pilot.
And when you and your squad bust into one area and kill up everyone who is defending it feels good, specially if you can stab a couple unsuspecting people in the process
Shame when cheaters play but the game is great.
Just read you don't like it because of the lack of story.
These types of games are multiplayer and require no stroy. You play to better yourself and to "upgrade" your soldier which is ultimately you. The more points you get the better your soldier becomes, What is really good about 2142 is that you don't on;y get points for kills. You get points for giving health, revivals, resupplies, repairs, following orders, teamwork, assists and a variety of bonus points when you recieve medals and badges for achivement and there is nothing more satisfing then going on a rampage without dying for ages and recieiving several awards while you continue to murder the opposition!
