I thought I'd share my swift clean of Gill's barge with you,

before,

The original plan was to use my new Victoria wax Concours kit and Serious Performance Sheepskin wash mitt, there wasn't any dilution ratio on the bottle so I used 1:300 which gave a nice foamy, glossy wash which was better than my first trial with 'basics of bling' in my last thread.

But due to changing plans, I had to give it a quick wipe down with 2 layers of Serious Performance Show Detailer v2

after,

Hopefully get a proper chance to use the Victoria wax shortly, now that the better weather is setting in :cool3:

looks nice rich.

paint on the side looks abit more (bobbly) than the cinq. do you reck on the wax will make it more mirror finish? always thought bmw's had poorish surface on their paint.

bet that took a bit longer to do than the cinq ;)

Not for that finish, although now think I should really clay it before putting nice wax on. Will take a heck of a lot longer to do it properly, longer than I anticipated. I need step ladders to reach the roof and struggle to reach the centre :(

Yeah IMO there are quite a few bits of rough looking paint, hopefully get it a little smoother but BM paint is notoriously hard so nothing short of a heavy machine session will give it good correction. The Vics wax is supposed to be very glossy and wet looking so here's hoping, although from different angles it does look really good just now and the metallic flake is really popping which it hasn't done before.

agreed. the paint on mine was fairly thick, bubbly and rough compared to even the cinqs thin but smooth paint finish.

The cinq paint is beautifully smooth in comparison, except the bubbly rust patches

Really need to get the wheels off an do them properly too. Although they have come out really well for the time being.

Looks good :)

Paint on the Stilo's a bit iffy in places too. Chips incredibly easily and the lacquer's peeling in quite a few places. Even a bit of rust on the tailgate, which I wasn't expecting on what's meant to be a fully galvanised car :( Still though, a good polish like you've done there, I'm sure it'll at least minimise some of the "issues" it has :)
