Iv a mk1.5 focus and wanna fit DRLs which are on constant when engine is on ect. BUT i also want them to come on when i unlock the car when its parked up.... I presume they would have to be wired to the interior courtesy light which also comes on when unlocking...?
Is it even possible / too much hassle / worth the hassle?

cheers :D

Erm, well you'd be running two circuits then. Wiring from the coutesy light won't be hard but you'd have to put in a diode so that the power only goes down rather than back on the wiring causing the lights to come on.

As for them being DRL's, you'd have to wire into the main ignition relay (Don't know where it is but I think it'll be in the fuse box under the bonnet)

I could throw up a diagram if it'd be any use.

that would be really could if you could, please?? that sounds relatively simples, but as with everything, i bet i make it hard... haha

p.s. you CANNOT make it idiot proof enough - if you aim it at a 10yr old, that'll probz be about right :cheesy:

I've attempted to make it as simple as possible BUT you will need to know the wires that you need to splice into.

Please note: if you are making the custom LED kit, DO NOT solder the LED next to the resistor as the resistor WILL heat up and cause the LED to blow.

I am also assuming that you know the basics of wiring diagrams with the above circuit.

thanks very much!! i'll get the what wire is what online i would imagine, and i roughly remember the above, after all, whats the worst that could happen.. haha

Hey, how did you get on with the diagram? If you need any further help, just say :)
