i have now replaced the stalk unit which had melted on the car and the wiring terminal that had melted but the problem is still here

when i press the brake pedal fuse number 13 blows (Fuse 13 is bottom row in middle) 10Amp

from the BOO running guide fuse 13 runs these

Instrument Panel Power + Key
10
13

Engine Oil Control Unit (TD105)
10
13

Direction Indicators
10
13

Brake Lights
10
13

High Level Brake Light
10
13

now ive had a thought that maybe a wire further back has melted connecting another to it but im unsure of this ill have to check all the cable right the way back

but another thing has started to happen as well
when i lock the doors with the alarm fob the rear lights flash all the bulbs at the same time but it used to be only the indicators that did this

thats about all i can think of at the moment

Sounds like the rear wiring has fused somewhere, just out of interest, which lights come on when you brake? is it all of them? if so the fuse maybe blowing cause it's overloaded.

nothing comes on when i brake as it fuses im gonna do a source hunt 2moro when there is some light and check the wires on the brakes to see if any have melted together causing the short
