anyone got any experience in fitting for advice, and enough knowledge about them to recommend what make or size i should go for on my 1.9 turbodiesel.its running 16.5 psi just now but will be up a bit more in the near future and also 1.9 mayb be increased to 2.0 or 2.1l

any help much appreciated

have you tried Pace or Sparco to see if they do one for your car?
prob sound dumb but is it for the stilo or do ya have another car?
also, you'll prob want to install a manual override switch for your fan if you do getone

u didnt read my post properly:lol: , for my 1.9 turbodiesel, well i suppose if i was wierd i'd maybe have two turbodiesels?

no havent tried them, didnt know about them, will try them tomorrow maybe, cheers

had a look at spearco but the didnt look that great and would have been difficult to fit, soooooooooo

iv bought an Allard Motorsport Universal FMIC,it should arrive start of next week, its the muts nuts.some size of thing, just over 31 inches across by 8.5 inches tall and 3 inches deep, then i just have the challenge of finding hoses and mounting it to my crossmember, can't wait to get this done but will take time to get it on and the bumper moddified to allow as much air to go over it as possible.

then taking it down to dastek to have the boost turned up again and rolling roaded. hopeing for over 150 bhp this time! :D :D 8)

Hi mate.

What is the standard i/c on the Stilo, side mount?

I'm fitting an Evo 4 fmic to my Coupe soon replacing the side mount. Bit of a tight squeeze, some of the bumber needs to be taken away. I'm going to weld three brackets to the car to secure it properly then it's just a case of re routing the pipe work.
I've heard this mod makes a big difference though so shall be worth it. 8)

Let us know how you get on.

the standard intercooler is pretty small, slightly smaller than A4 sheet of paper, the new 1 is almost 3 times its size, and yeh its side mounted standard, im just gonna extend the standard side hoses to meet the front of the bumper, gonna be a fair task but iv been told to expect a good gain, and also allows higher boost pressure again adding power

just had an e-mail from the company manufacturing these intercoolers, turbo diesel specialists they are, and said from the equivalant on a peugot 307 hdi, with similar mods,,ie induction kit, exhuast modifications, remapped ecu and the intercooler iv ordered.gives 165 bhp and 238 lb ft of torque, 0-60 time of 7.4 seconds, my car already has more torque and brake than the peugot standard than that at 140 bhp, so after intercooler is fitted and iv had the ecu re-mapped again i could be looking at 160- 180 bhp depending on how silly the boost pressure is, and torque of almost 300 lb/ft of torque, doing 0-60 in just over 7 seconds

so that should put a smile on my face, but just have to wait and see as these claims can sometimes be "out".

but looks promising to be gt munching power. wonder how fast it might be if i get headwork and lightening and balancing done!!! :D watch out at edzell !

Standard GT maybe we will see how you fair agaist one with a SEB and the other mods that go with it , looks like edzell will be an interesting day :D :D

once its been lightened and balanced etc it will be 210 bhp + with standard turbo remember. very interesting indeed sir,

It's not so much the bhp in these tractors it's the torque

yep exactly, expect 300 lb ft of torque and a 1/4 mile time of low 15's high 14's when im finished this bad boy!

by edzell it will do about 15.5

kool kool mikey.yeh might strip it out coz im going to rebuild my install again, lighter this time! subs behind the seats, amps and 6x9s lining the boot floor with some use of perspex and fancy lighting will come into play also, 8) this fiat is gonna be a mother when im done!

found out that to get the most of my mods i'll have to replace the "common rail" injection system with the same from the 2.4 litre jtd engine in the fiat ducato vans, this will allow more fuel to flow in,as it is currently restricted by the standard ones,

so a summary, all intercooler, hoses and larger injection nozzles from 2.4 shall be gathered over next 2-3 weeks, then end of march me and my mechanical mates are taking off the cylinder head etc and taking it to precision engineering to be worked on.once complete the engine will be rebuilt with all the new upgraded parts, then a trip down to dastek to have the ecu re-mapped once more with again higher boost.resulting in a diesel which will eat up most things in its path.

to add to the pain for you petrolheads and pushing the boat out on diesel iv been e-mailing company's about getting a hybrid turbo made, BIG TURBO that can run upto 2.4 bar of boost,(36.5 psi). but that would require dry ice to be used to cool the intake air and a few other upgraded parts to cope with higher pressures. 250+ bhp and 400+ lb/ft of torque at 2500 rpm hmmmmmmm if it blows up i'll get the 2.4.

Alright grammy have you got all the pipework for your stilo.

I have an allar FMIC on my GT and its the best mod i've done. Was a peice of **** to fit too

if you need any help drop me a pm
