Thinking of getting some better brakes (lets face it, standard punto ones aint up to much and its fair to say mine have been given hell!)

Need the rear brakes sorted out (new shoes?) was gonna do a disc conversion but really cant be arsed with the hassle!

Was suggested could just replace the front setup with a GT setup?! Anyone done this before and got an idea of cost?! Would it be an easy enough swap?! I know its more than just a case of swapping the discs and pads!

I recommend going to an Delta Integrale set up – 284mm discs at the front. I’ve got that on my Abarth and they work really well. I think the Abarth and the Punto weigh about same so the performance should be similar.

There are loads of Fiat/Lancia’s that use the same disks, pad and callipers (Coupe, Delta, Tipo 16V, Thema the list goes on) so they are relatively easy to get from a scappy. The difficult part is getting them to fit – you have to design an adapter bracket in most cases specific to the car. If your interested I can help further.

Cheers

Im (hopefully!) uprating my gt 2 brembo coupe 20vt calipers and discs so ill hav a set of standard gt one if ur interested martyn?

I'm not 100% sure but I would recon the GT would bolt straight on. They are about 257mm (same as the Strada Abarth) and the Integrale discs are much bigger (better) at 284mm

martyn, i would sell the gt brakes for £90. that includes the calipers (which r painted red) discs and pads.

i want to upgrade the brakes on my stilo. anyone know what would fit? ie caliper wise, bigger disc's on front would prob b an idea and just upgrade rear discs and pads

not going to fit IIRC

if you've got 257 discs already then GT brakes are not going to make much of a difference. if you have a lower model with 240mm then yes they will make a differnce. you can also fit rear discs from the GT on the back
