Just bought another set of slicks from ebay, thats me with enough tyres for a year or 2 :)

And the 'investment' just keeps going.. new boost gauge and a new alloy radiator in transit.

Bought a reverse camera for the truck as well :) should help with hitching up the trailer lol

So, now all the bits are bought, i will have 3 days to get it all fitted before the last trackday of the year

*sigh*

Popped in past the lockup to drop off some tools to change the radiator and was faced with this:

Radiator was burst from the last time i visited a gravel trap, and the oil i have just discovered, is from a cracked sump. Took the sump off of my old engine today and cleaned it up ready to go on. The boost gauge wasnt working and so i bought another one, and its not doing terribly well either, which means i have bought a duff gauge or i have a boost problem. Sounded and felt ok last outing which made me think it was only the gauge.

Oops, also forgot to update this.

Got the radiator and sump changed, all leaks stopped, spanking new tyres on for running in the wet (note to self, extremely slippery for the first few miles as found out 2 corners into the last knockhill session).

The whole front end is getting freshened up this trip home, all bearings, balljoints, bushes, 4pot AP calipers, and some adjustments to get done. Then try to get it down to somewhere to get the corner weights sorted.

Ooohhh look what arrived at the house...

Spax RSX coilovers :)

312mm discs straight bolt on for the polo.... yes please... thank you ebay :D

No, well prob fit the TT as well, they are Mtec 5x112 vw ones, redrilled for the 4x100 pattern, just got to make some brackets for the 4 pot calipers now :)

Well... the brakes are too big lol, going to have to go up to 16" wheels...

So.. my day went a bit like this..

Spare hubs

Buffed down, and put in new wheel bearings

All finished and looking like new

trial fit the new big discs

Too big to get a caliper in there as well lol

Time for a spot of primer

Then while that was drying.. the REAL sexy stuff started..

The rear coilovers were fitted, and the fronts will be done tomorrow along with the hubs, new rack, ball joints, bushes etc..

Well... all the goodies are stripped back off. I was removing the subframe so i could change the rack and the captive nuts under the chassis legs started spinning...

So removed everything and out with the grinder! Cut small 'windows' where the nuts are and cleaned the cavity up, then welded the nuts down... So, todays job is welding up the holes and building everything back up

Car currently getting 4 wheel alignment done and then corner weighted.

I just cant wait for track time ?

And as it comes off the ramp, the fuel pump stops pumping.... effing thing. lol

Electrical gremlin sorted now.. i think.. onto Project Trailer Brakes!!

Thats 3 out of 4 brake back plates cut off and replaced, one more to do tomorrow, then its just a case of suss out and buy the wee bits for hooking it all up to the new hitch ?
