Glad you are ok bud.

Time to get a real fiat now ;)

(No sympathy here lol)

Also glad you're ok. The roads round here were exceptionally greasy today and I'm only surprised there's not been more accidents

For those who don't know the panda has been recovered to Ellon so naturally I went to take a look. It's definitely not good but not as bad as I feared and a good advert for the strength and safety of those wee cars considering what happened. I've sent Martyn some pics and he can decide if he posts them up or not.

Thanks folks.

Roads are, obviously, rather greasy. Slowed into a corner, as I've done 100's of times before and as I came round I just felt the back end twitch. Nowt I could do, but try and correct it and bring the car to a stop without hitting anyone/anything....

Now normally I wouldnt have even gone for the break but along the n/s of the road is quite a drop into some trees and there is ZERO protection. So in the split second I had I felt that corrective steering and an attempt to slow down a little more would be the best way forward.

Getting a bit sore now but I stocked up on some paracetimol and ibuprofen at Morissons in Inverurie. Going to get showered (once I''ve phoned my insurers) then go to the pub and have a nice cold pint.

I've got some of the pics from Harper - I'll put one up later, purely to show how well the Panda coped with todays accident. Thanks also to Harper and Ransoman for their help. Much appreciated guys.

Jings, sorry to hear that! :( a car is just metal at the end of the day and the least important thing in an accident. so glad you're ok.

They are tough little cars the pandas, Thankfully.

Right monkey tits, you have had a few hours to recover, get the pics up ;)

Better late than never.

Today was a little sore at times, but haven't had any painkillers since about 4pm and not feeling too bad at all.

Having chatted with a few folk, the diesel theory holds ground. Pity there's no way of proving the theory, but there we go. As much I was reluctant to do so, I drove again today. Into Dyce then out to Ellon to recover the last of my crap from the car. I'll admit - the first few miles I was fairly nervous and took every corner fairly timidly, even though the conditions were ideal. By the time I headed home I was a little more confident, but perhaps not 100% yet. I passed the scene of yesterdays accident although heading the opposite direction. That felt like something I had to do (apart from the mental bit it's the quickest way home from the Ellon direction!)

The last image made me chuckle. It was obviously a scrap I'd left lying in the car at the end of one of my long days. Just found it as I was sifting through the first pile of recovered shite. Going to keep that I think

Best thing for it... blaze of glory..

Get better, and get a better car matey.

looks like it stood up very well :) Thing is, it had really skinny tyres on it like all 1.1 pandas, so if it had hit oil or diesel, it's not like there's much tyre to bite into the road, another reason these eco type sized tyres are bad news the second something bad happens.

Ouch fella, Fiat's certainly do stand up to some surprising crash damage considering how flimsy they can be. Hope ya ment quick an the insurance dina try rip ya off

Blaze of glory? More like a blaze of leaflets.

There must have been over a hundred GTM leaflets scattered around the car - bet it felt like a ticker-tape parade each time the car went over lol
