Thought I'd put a Lancia Coupe thread here as it's kinda Fiat related...because there's no work getting done on the Spider at the moment.

Started a body restoration on the Lancia four weeks ago, and to be honest it isn't as bad as I thought...haven't uncovered too many horror stories yet. Have done metal repairs to doors, bootlid, bonnet, and various bits and bobs...work in progress. see photos taken today.

A wee update on the Lancia...Got all the metal repairs done, stripped the old filler and paint off, found some more dents under the filler...think it has been driven too close to the hedgerows in middle England. Still got some filler to smooth out my repairs/panel beating...shouldn't be long now for the visit to the paint shop. Watch this space!

Finished off the rebuild today...Will need to take it for a couple of shakedown drives, to make sure everything works ok!

Wow! just wow!

*wipes the drool away*

btw, if you're looking for a new project I have a '59 Mjet in a very sorry state that needs some tlc

Thanks guys...had a good run today, but unfortunately on the way back it started running rough. Had to replenish some coolant...restart...white smoke from exhaust...header tank pressurizing. Think I have a failing head gasket...****. Looks like the Spider will be pressed into service for my road trip.

Update... got the cylinder head sorted, failed 30yr old gasket! "Pain in the Arse" job though. Although the engine is the same as the Spider, it's east-west configuration and tilted back 15deg doesn't help. Also got a bespoke stainless exhaust made, which was nice and raspy initially but has now got a deeper tone. Other jobs include brake overhaul, lower wishbone bushes replaced, tyre's replaced with Yokohamas, and C.V. joint changed another p.i.t.a. job.

Looking for a good period radio...spindle mount with F.M. anybody?

See photo's of Sanquar Show in September, check the cracking little Opel GT next to me...Corvette lookalikey.
