thirded, but i was just too polite to say
Fourthed...
Ryan the lights look much better without the Chrome...
What size are the bolts for the bonnet catch?? looks about 12mm, just I'm gonna go to Shewalton tomorrow, get a bonnet catch for ya & get a price for another member.... Mark

See if we have a Fix it meet at yours, I'll also bring along my HD Wax :cool4:

love how you put your self up for it andi when he hasnt asked... what if he doesnt want one.... im pretty certain spray grease will fix that latch easy!! and thats grease not wd40

aye. just dont leave wd40 on it as it works for a week then attracts dust and makes it worse...

id put money on the fact you wont need a new catch.

yup, but the wd40 is good for loosening rusty stuff, wire brusing will take whats left off then spray grease will make it all slide smooooothly......

can't beat a bit of lubrication.....so she said

is wd40 not water based and if left would a. dry out and b. potentially cause rust? anyhoo, a good spray grease should see it right, we had to do the same on the beemer, one catch still sticks from time to time

Yeah I wasn't too sure about the chrome - would take the dark look of the car away. And with the bonnet catch It's the fact that one part isn't even functioning - I have to push it into place with pliers before shutting it... I'm fine as it is for now andi - wont be doing any under the bonnet maintenance anytime soon anyways until I source a good airfilter/induction kit.
I'm going to install my stereo tomorrow - and hopefully find some decent speakers in the clearance section of halfords tomorrow. Will buy buying wind deflectors tomorrow too if I can find any - if not i'll post and see what deal the classified on FF will get me ;) Will install my footwell LEDs aswell - might customize things such as sun visors/center console tomorrow if I get some spray cans/lacquer - I have an idea of creating something like this photo - with black/blue/white; bit unique.

aww someone's bought them already. Yeah I was going to go with them in the first place... 30 quid though bit steep, but it will suit the car a lot. Cheers Andi. Installing my headunit today - might get a little vid up of how the custom exhaust sounds.

Psssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhht. That was the FIRST thing I checked on this one mate. All legit / hpi / mot / service / everything.

wd40 is a retards tool :) but a good tub of proper paste and youll never have bother with any sort of lube problems again :D

Bit of an update - Had to delay the stereo fitting as I need an adapter for fitting it as the existing ones don't line up - so 13 quid for the faceplate/17 quid for the adapter, when a company in falkirk will do the whole fitting for 20 including the faceplate etc - so will just wait and take it there.

Fixed the rattling boot - the latch was a little loose, so a quick tighten and jobs a good'un.

Sprayed my sun visors, black base coat with a blue spray effect as I showed in the picture above, then clear coat to make it shine. Looks not bad - could have done a better job but honestly sun visors are the worst possible things to spray and I suggest no one tries it. I'm gonna take a trip to the scrappies and get another set and I'm thinking about stickerbombing or wrapping them black.

[attachment=1:1bgoc2rx]IMAG0212.jpg[/attachment:1bgoc2rx]pic doesn't do it justice, it's alot more black than blue; but some areas have dripped and left lines... ah well was good fun doing it.

I wouldnt buy a induction kit. They give you less BHP than a standard Airbox and lowers MPG. Only benefit is your get the induction noise The only proven induction kit that has given BHP is GSR. which are very hard to come by now. Even so at over £150 it gains 3bhp. Not a noticeable gain need to be atleast 10bhp to notice any improvement.
