Alright guys, I have this little shagger right here, and it's quite the looker in my eyes..

So far I've had to replace all the brake pipes, change the sump, change the brake pads, and somehow I snapped the alternator belt when I started it..

So I've got to replace the alternator belt, the brake shoes at the back, readjust the handbrake, and change all the filters.. Then she'll be roadworthy!!

Oh, and I need a new wheel - last owner kerbed it a peach! There's a chunk missing out of the alloy - so I'm stuck with the space saver right now.. Bad times, I know...

But hey ho, for £150 I can't complain at an excellent first car!

Oh yeah, and I had to replace the driver's window, because some little ned bastard smashed it when it was in the previous owner's garage and used it as a gang hut with his pals to smoke weed... Found some amount of highlanders when I hoovered it out!

Looks good for £150 - as said in the other thread I fancied one of the 16v Sporting's myself years back. Pretty insurance friendly but with a better turn of speed than the 8v :)

Alternator belt shouldn't be a biggie - just the sensor gets in the way (assuming it's the same as mine). And neds are lovely folk - wrecked the aerial on mine though probably have myself to blame since said aerial was alloy...too shiny for a ned to ignore

Looks not too shabby mate. Clean enough on the outside it seems, no dents or deep scratches? As for the alternator as muppet said, not a huge biggie. It'll looks smart mate, 1.2 16v is a rapid little engine, especially with the weight.

Highlanders, those abnormally shaped, horrible gummed skins, don't lower it to that level! :p

Looking forward to see some progress, those alloys wont be too hard to get for cheap mate - scrappies / fiatforum.

That's a bargain mate!

You're gonna hate me, but I've just secured a set of those alloys for my mk2 :) BUT if you look on ebay you'll find folk selling the odd spare alloy!

Hope you're taking that to the SICD in May :) Be nice to see some MK1's on the stand again!
