Picked up a set of Punto GT alloys this morning, good price and fairly good condition....Prob i am having is Wheel bolts....

would i be correct in saying the steellie wheel bolts are 24mm (thread length) and i would need 28mm thread length or would it be better to get 30mm....refuse to pay AC prices of £55 plus vat for a set, and can only get 8 from local scrappies.....

Ebay to the rescue....me thinks. just need to know the best length to get.

From memory mate, it's there or there abouts.

Standard Punto bolts - certainly on the mk1 - were far too short for any alloys.

Good news all the same on the alloys - still undecided what I'll go for eventually, might do something different now

wheels bought, wheel nuts in post, just bought wing mirrors of ebay...nice tax disc holder....i should not be spending money when i ain't working, but it makes me feel better......Oh, bidding on springs also....could be a busy week for me fitting it all, a well never mind, least i will look good driving to job center to sign on

Finally got the wheels on.....had to wait over a week for the wheel bolts, (not amused), FS sticker in place....happy days.

Just need to lower her and attach the wing mirrors then think about engine mods/replacement. and a good clean.

Looks decent Are the backlights slightly tinted btw? Had thought about putting a light tint like that on the Stilo's for a while.

back lights are lightly tinted.......got a can o spray from Fleabay and gave it 6/7 coats. i like the matt finish on it. will bring the can along to glasgow meet. you can tint yours.......LOL

I'm in two minds about doing it really. Don't mind the light tinted look though I have seen a version where it was pretty well blacked out apart from the reflectors at the bottom - actually looked quite decent. Also seen the flyeyes stuff being used on both the rear and front lights, which also looked pretty good. Think first things first, I'll get it through the MOT then I can think about modding again. Perhaps :laugh:

Lowered with new (2nd hand) front shockys, wing mirrors fitted....that is it for mods till i get a new job..canny afford anymore at the moment....

mirrors though.....sorry, not my taste. M3 mirrors only belong on an M3 imo

not a big fan of the mirrors, but they do look better than the pic shows.....really did not like the stock mirrors and they will do till sumthing better turns up....lol....need a black front bumper if anyone knows of one lying around..
