Well this is my Gt ( was for sale and iv now decided to keep it) Its done 142,000 miles and cost me £850. It has loads of service history and some mods such as a pipercross induction kit, Decatted exhaust and lowered 60mm also has a reciept for a superchip

I bought it in november and since then iv found this:

So right now my plans are to get new sills and floor panels welded in and get it m.o.ted after that im going to make it a little bit more standard by getting standard wheels and getting the boost at the right pressure ( right now it sits at 0.6 - 0.8 bar as the standard controller isnt hooked up) After that i might go for a bit more power but im not 100% sure right now :) .

looks good :) shame about the floor though

good to see you're planning to get her back to health

where did you get it from? there was a gt for sale near me that colour around November that was roughly that price too

I got it from Elderslie near johnstone actually bought it from a garage which makes the rust even more annoying as the owner of the place said it was solid underneath as far as i know its originaly from fife area.

Im away to pick up the sills today and the welding should be done by around the 20th of febuary. also going to remove the 8000k H.I.Ds as the police dont like them and i think they might be the reason the front fogs dont work.

Nice looking project, shame you were misled about the car being solid underneath. Be good to see it restored back to good health and hope to see it at a meet some time.

currently i think around 145 - 150hp but saying that i try not to rally it about i think ideally id like it to be around 190ish but i think that will cost a fortune.

Just to add in the next couple of months im going to be picking up: K&n induction kit, custom exhaust with just 1 box ( after m.o.t) slightly tinted windows, bleed valve and then im going to see about a remap/ seb chip.

it's not running as standard anyway, the intercooler gives it away, 145hp sounds about right though if theres been no other jiggery pokery

besides the intercooler theres a pipercross enclosed induction kit and its decatted and could have a superchip dont know for certain though.

Looks like a pretty decent example bar the underside rust. Almost hankering after a GT myself as they can be bought up for peanuts these days, even the good ones.

they seem like fairly decent cars for the money i was originally looking for a 106 gti and i stumbled across this instead. insurance isnt too bad either.

Yeah, been looking at them too. Drove my mate's 1.1 106 and it was a proper hoot. Had been lowered, close ratio gearbox, etc but tin worm got to it eventually too, that and he wanted a safer, more practical car. I remember a TG review at the time putting the Punto GT against the Saxo VTS, 106 GTi and the not very hot hatch like Polo 16v. 106 came out top, Saxo next and then probably the Punto if memory serves. Polo was dead last of course

Lol i think the pug and the saxo would be better standard than the punto but the punto seems to be easier to get decent power from. Saying that i prefer my mates vtr on a back road purely because of the puntos solid suspension.

Cheers for the comments guys :) got hold of a brand new bailey dump valve today :) sounds pretty good.
