Yellow - FS Project Seicento 2

Ok so first of all thanks to Martin - he spent today in Echt helping in our quest to get yellow back on the road again :)

He's also kindly donated the 1.1 engine from his old Cinquecento to the project, along with the stock ECU. Whilst we bought yellow with a nice spritely 1.2 there's an underlying issue that we've never managed to get to the bottom of when it comes to emissions. So, for now, yellow is going standard - ish. We can look at the other engine in the long term, figure out whats needing doing and see if we can get it running perfectly.

I had a list of tasks I hoped we'd achieve today, but in the end we managed to just about get the block in place. We knew this would be tricky, so I'm glad its more or less there. Especially as we only had around 4 hours of useful daylight. Also, no hoists or engine cranes meant this had to be fitted with brute force and a lot of trial & error. As it stands we're literally a bolt away from being done with the block before we fit the new head gasket, refit the head and then wire it all up again.

The plan is to reconvene asap and get the engine fully plumbed in and running. Beyond that we have a new brake master cylinder to fit (Stuarty had issues with the brakes on its last trip to the MOT station) then fit a new stock exhaust and at that point check over again...

Watch this space!

Yellow was on the move again this week. Sadly still on a trailer but at least we haven't given up yet. Anyway, it's now back on my driveway and although it's likely to be a good month or two before I can organise anything the plan is to have a social sort of weekend with a night out in Aberdeen on the Saturday and then a fix it meet plus bbq in Ellon on the Sunday. As ever all are welcome - even more so if you are willing to pitch in and help.

Have some pictures of a very sorry looking Yellow (btw, according to how many's left there's less than 3k of these on the road)
