Yep...mucho impressed!

Though I'm just back from the Karaoke, and you can STILL see the stains on the pavement where the water left the old tank. Mank, pure mank!

Mot booked in for Tuesday morning, first thing. Bus for a day or two then roadtrip (hopefully) next weekend!

yeah, you'd better get some soapy water and a stiff sweeping brush and give the boys drive a scrub, that coolant that came out was disusting,

stillthink it was funny to see your face when you came out with the tea and bacon buttie, and id already done the oil and plugs lol

Got the list, and whilst for the most part I'm happy to have the car back, I'm raging - turns out the little grease monkeys have ****ED the locking wheel nut key. They've also over-torqued the locking wheel nuts. Result - the rear wheels can't come off, and I've got a slow puncture!!!

To say I'm a bit pissed off is something of an understatement.

give em hell, or in your case, write a stern letter

What...like the following?

Hello,

I had my car MOT'd this week at Market Street Aberdeen. For the most part I've been dealing with a guy called Danny, who'se been as helpful as I'd expect. Ive paid for the work, and taken the car away. When I collected the car, he pointed out my tyre was soft this morning, and he'd put air in the tyre. It would now appear this is a slow puncture. Now, I've gone to change my wheel and discovered that whilst work was carried out on my car the locking wheel nut has been all but destroyed. The inner pattern is close to snapping, and it would also appear that the wheel is torqued up far too tight. To this end, I'm not willing to try and force the locking wheel nut off of the wheel.

The last time the rear wheels were removed (2-3 weeks ago) I can vouch that the key was in PERFECT condition, and the wheel bolts were only torqued up by hand (no air guns available)

Meantime I'm left with a car that I'm not entirely happy to drive, and I'm away on holiday tomorrow (Friday) night. I don't have time to visit Market Street tomorrow, as the centre doesn't open til 8am and I start work at 9am. I live over an hours drive from work.

At this hour of night, I don't know what the solution is, but I'm wanting i) The offending locking wheel key replaced. I stress again, this was in PERFECT condition when I left the car in Kwik Fits care.

ii) The offending wheel bolts removed (so I can change my wheel)

This may mean that, at KF's expense, you have to deploy a mobile fitter van. I don't really care, as long as the issue is solved.

You can contact me on 07927 ******

I should also point out I'm more than willing to go to the press & trading standards to deal with this matter, should the need arise.

hold off with the press/trading standards bit, till you get nowhere

just sent the following instead.

Pretty crap state of affairs mate, but as I've said on msn I wouldn't trust Kwik Fit in the slightest since they fecked up the exhaust on my old Punto. Didn't seem to have a clue in general, used Hi-Q after that and they were okay certainly a lot better than Kwik Fit for sure. Hope you get it sorted asap.

Long story short, the mot had expired - hence it was booked into KF as quick as poss. Usually I wouldnt even entertain the idea, but I had to book it *somewhere*

Slow puncture, I believe so. They never picked that, or the two different sized tyres on the back axel, for the MOT.

The over torquing - measured in newton metres? Vec should be 110/120 I believe. The guy that heated the rear lockers off in Peterhead said they were torqued to something like 160 (I believe)

Geez that's not good, but like Stu said if you get no where, then go to VOSA and report the garage to them, that's what we did when a garage in Troon tried to Fail the Doblo on the front brake pads, saying that the were lesss then 2.5mm, but the garage in question NEVER removed the front wheels as the locking wheel nut key was still in the glove box.

I was told this by my Step- dad after I got home from work that day, and the Garage wouldn't give us the old MOT Certificates back, and then the Garage owner tried to assult us, so went to the Police and they said that unless Mr * had phyiscally assulted us then we were best going to VOSA as they have an office in Kilmarnock.

1 Week later VOSA arranged to have The Doblo MOT'd at a Garage in Kimarnock and requested that Mr * attended this MOT.
I followed my Step -dad down there and waited with him, 20mins later the VOSA MOT Tester came into the wating room and said that the car had passed with NO Advisory's, not bad for a 4yr old Doblo (5yrs old now).

We don't know what was said to Mr * by the VOSA Tester as we left, but almost every time either I or my Step- dad has goe down to troon and gone past his garage to get to another garage he has either been standing at the workshop doors swearing at us or has tried to reverse a customers car into the side of either the Doblo or my Panda when I had it. He has also tried to follow me when I've been in Troon, and it has been reported to the Police, we now believe he may be in difficulty or been struck off as there is never anyone about at the Garage in Troon now.

he probably got his mot tester status revoked.

quite a story.

i don't use garages around Dundee any more unless i really have to (like for MOT's etc, or stuff im not confident in doing), but the ones i would consider using, i know are good and trustworthy.

any garage i go to knows i am a member on alot of forums, believe me, that changes their attitude towards you when the know you can give them alot of custom or steer people away from them ;)

The guy from Kwik Fit rang yesterday. Said the rear wheels were never removed to replace the anti roll bar links/bushes. Not convinced by that, especially as I know that the last time the Vecs rear wheels removed was by stuarty who I watched tighten them up BY HAND.

Not sure what else I can do other than advise folk to stay clear of Kwik ****.
