Right i will have another go lol,

What iam trying to do is keep it as Fiat Cinquecento 1108cc Fire Sporting and not making it into something its not,so iam only changing the parts i need to to achieve the look iam going for and keep as much of the cars original characteristics as and when it came off the production line,

Cheers Scuderia

a 1242 8v spi is still the same basic engine...just with more torque and a few more bhp. it still retains all the cinq injection etc so isnt really changing the characteristics much. infact, it changes the engines nature less than swapping to a p75 cam does.

it's not making it something it's not, it's making it a cinq with added ooomph

Hi Mate,

I get what your saying but iam still not convinced iam afraid,if and when i sell it then the next person can do it if thats what there into but at the minute after much thought over the last 17 months i have always come back to keeping the 1108cc not because of money just simply because thats what iam keen to do,

No the new bucket seat mounts will bolt straight to the excisting anchor points so there is no need for me to use the old runners as it will only have to fit me and once i get it adjusted to me it should not need moving again,

That is just soooooo selfish, typical. :tongue3:

You should be well proud when you and the boy are out in the wee car, you've built yourself a peach mate (y)

Hi All,

I just thought i share some pics with you of the half OMP bolt in cage i bought from Donna at the start of the week, its not what i realy wanted to fit but seeing as it was cheap enough i thought why not,

I sanded it back to bare steel and gave it a few coats of primer and then gave it a few more coats of red to finish it off,i hope to get it fitted next weekend all going well?

Hi All,

Well its took me a little longer than i first thought to fit the half cage,

The time i got it prepped and painted and waited for it to dry which i had to do in the house :cat dry the cage that is :cat as it was far to cold in the garage that gave me time to get all the 3mm steel plate brackets a good friend made up for me then all i had to do was mig welded them into place followed by drilling them for the mounting bolts then i gace them a paint so now at long last its fitted,i also ordered some cage padding so it just got delivered as i was finishing off i i have left to do it wrap some cable ties rount it to keep it in place,

I just have a few more odd jobs now to do for its MOT test in April then there will be no more work done on it till Autumn,

All the best Scuderia

Hey Mate,

Just a question on where you put your eye bolts :) . As i am in process of doing it as well.

Did you have to drill any holes at all (may be one in the middle of the car?) Could you take a pic of where all ur eye bolts are?

update016.jpg

On the rear mounting points, am just planing on using the 4 holes where the middle seat there. Take it that's a 3 point harness yeah ?

Thanks!
Ming

Hi Ming,

I used all the existing points front and rear using fine thread eye bolts,

Apart from the front centre points as they were a part of the old seating arrangement so the new points got placed here below in the middle of the transmission tunnel using 60mm x 60mm 3mm steel plate welded and bolted in place on the underside,

You will see that there is also another hole on the plate? thats for bolting it in position after drilling the holes,

As i said i used all the existing points on the rear see below,

I hope that helps,

Iam not sure if it is double skinned there or not? but with the plate being on the underside with the flat surface of it against the underside of the tunnel and the fine threaded bolt thats already welded to it then with the plate being tac welded in place as well as being bolted down then the main eye bolt threaded through both layers that in fact is making it double skinned so there is no reason why you would need to weld another plate but thats up to you,

Oh aye this might bve of interest:

http://www.fiatforum.com/cinquecento-seicento/166019-cinq-abarth-project-1-4-16v-10.html

"All interior trim stays in place, it's very light weight & be pointless replacing with anything else. Plus if you read the new rules for Nurburgring there must be no exposed sections inside cars all panels must be in place otherwise you're not allowed on.

I think most UK tracks will go same way."

Not sure when UK tracks will follow those rules! And if they do, make sure you kept on the old plastic trims :) .

Thanks
