Meet the Minion. :)
A 1989 uk spec BIS. Which means 700CC, 2 cylinders, rear wheel drive and the engine in a cubby hole under the boot.
Seemingly bloody solid shell. Though not as good a runner. Less than a week and the baffles in the exhaust are burst then it split a radiator hose and today broke down completely. :woot:

Thus ends the prolouge.
Chapter 1, Making the damn thing reliable.

You want some Sei Sporting alloys for it? :D
It's funny when I was going to get it. I had all these plans for modding it. Then when I got down and saw it, it was so original it even still had supplying dealer plates and window sticker on. So thought I'd leave it original and just clean it up.

Then it started playing up and now I'm considering upgrading as many moving parts to electrical as possible, feual pump ignition system and such.

But what you should do is put the sei wheels on your 126 and sell me your minilites. :laugh4:

Same plans for the black one - electronic ignition (that starter handle hurts when it decides it doesn't want to play :( ), considering electric fuel pump but may leave that for now until project 1108 gets underway in a few years time ;)

Edit: Oh, and there's no way you're getting my Minilites! They need a refurb though so I'll probably use the Sei wheels for a wee while when that's being done.

Looks like a good base for restoration OR something else ;)

Funny, but those wheel trims remind me of the first car I drove, my Dad's 903cc Uno Mk2. An Uno "Start", which it often did. Though I was a total hooligan in that car. I think though that the wheel trims on your 126 are a bit more like the "Start+", which had the much higher spec. Think it was basically just the 1.1 60hp version though :D

Apologies for going rather off tangent and talking about wheel trims :rolleyes2:

believe it or not, seeing as ive got an insurance refund getting the cinq, i toying ith the idea of selling my other punto and buying a battered 126 to restore and modify ever so slightly :)

They are getting so rare though, its best to start with a tatty one if mods are the plan, a clean standard example id be tempted to leave as standard as possible, bar mods for reliabilty of course ;)

Does look a solid standard example that :) , hope its up and running reliably soon :)

Nice wee motor there mate.
Looks in good nick and surely must be crying out for some mods!!!
Hey bud! You been hiding?

Yeah it is definately going down the road to modifications.

Seen wheels I want but they are dear. My brand new 18" OZ Superturismos with tyres were cheaper than the 12" alloys without tyres I'm looking at.

Sure it will look the dogs when its done.
The price of these things usually kick where it hurts!!

a hink it would look gr8 with a the black trims off r painted same colour as the car & the bumpers too n a spoiler like the 1 off a corsa b n a nice set a wheels :)

Cheers but I reckon the car is too old school to take colour coding and Corsa B spoilers.
The plan is a bit more 70's inspired since that's it original era.

@ Brian. Good to have you back mate.

These are the wheels I want at the moment. Providing I have the cash when I have sorted everything else, these will be the wheels I buy.

a 126 should never look up to date, its a classic ;)

About the only modernisation I'd do to my 126 is the engine, keep the styling retro - it's about go not show :p

Having said that, I have seen a very nice Mk2 Golf bodykit which I'm very tempted to customise to fit ... maybe in a few years ;)
