Gill clipped a rock, pothole, a.n.other today putting a bulge in the sidewall of the passenger side front tyre. Just wondered what peoples opinions were on the urgency to have it replaced as doubt it can be repaired.

At £145 each, the longer they stay on the better as I'll likely have replace a pair?

get it off plain and simple i know it hurts the pockets but if that blows id rather it hurts my pockets as thats sidewall damage and is likely to pop

another option stick on a spare and hunt out a couple of part worns to tide you over

aye thought that be the answer, spare is a space saver :( been on the bay an watching a couple of part worns, gona fone local breaker tomorrow an see if they have any

best get it replaced mate , as you dont want a blow out if it happend ,, i ran round with a bulgded tyre ( put on rear for less weght ) for a mounth , took it off at work , as i ut the machine on it poped the side wall out :(

I think thats what they say in the business as being.......expensive!! :(

Actually the price of the tyres not half as bad as I expected it to be, only 25 notes more than a potenza for the sporting. Sorry you have to pay up though mate!

As has been said, that tyre will have to be binned. Not safe to drive on, happened to me very recently with a works vehicle. Turned out there was a 'bulge' on the sidewall on the inside of the tyre ie. not where it could be seen without taking the wheel off and looking at the inside edge of the wheel.
It blew out - thankfully - at moderately low speed (<35mph) on a roundabout. I got such a fright I got a couple of extra tonsils as my nuts made like a lift up through my body, was talking in soprano for a good 15 minutes :dizzy2:
Fortunately, no damage other than to my nerves.

ask mark on how my hankooks sidewall looked last week i had them changed but pothole damage cause one bubble like yours and on the other wheel a buldge nearly 10 inches in length :D it was huge :D thankfully now on a nice michelin exalto instead of crappy hankooks :D

Phoned up about some part worns on the bay, tossers had sold them cash an never ended the auctions. None available local, there's a PW one finishing Sunday that I can collect when at uni so holding out for that. Not much luck wi tyres atm, cinq's on space saver too :dead:

What size tyre you Running on....Will have a look for a runner at my work the morrow....(if i got one you at st andrews?)

Defo replace needed, as said previously. dangerous to be driving on, it is an saccident waiting to happen if you have a blow out at speed.

Cinq on spacesaver? You need a tyre for Cinq? What size?

That would be great if you could have a look. The BMs got 235/55/17 Pirelli Scorpion STR's, would it matter much if it didn't match? Cinq has a leaking valve, hopefully not a tyre required but it's 175/60/13 if it does. Not up at show :bigcry: sure if you had something ah could sweet talk jatkinson if he's got some space to bring it back.

Yip, defo that size. Just been to check, just what the last owner fitted. They are a heck of a lot cheaper than the right sized ones.
