tbh Mark, I don't think I would have a faster engine in this mx5, the mk 1 is Sooo low down, it feels like you are doing a ton, when you are only going 60 and thats only from a 90 bhp engine!!

thiis particular model will cost £200 to insure for the year.

but I do know where you're coming from.

Rob,this is definately going to get done at some point, I know theres a bit of work to be done to it, but its gonna take some time and finances to do it!!

bet my sol and cinq are lower to sit in ;) i don't get that extra impression of speed anymore from ride height, i get the opposite, everything feels slow high up :laugh:
 
dunno mate, would need to compare seat heights at some point!! :) all I know is that its dead scary when lorries pass you!! lol

My grande looks huge in comparisant!!

I was going to say the cinq would also feel like a go-kart but thought it might be a bit cheeky! :p

am just looking at induction kits just now and the pipercross kit doesnt look too bad!!
 
Well, I've been in an MX5 doing 120 (on a private road) with the top down and it was...interesting :laugh:

One or two trips down back roads as a passenger really made me want one. Even on the standard suspension, it just felt so stable and planted and yes, probably felt a lot faster than it was but nothing a supercharger can't sort ;)

Would have to be a mk1 though - it's all about those pop up headlights :laugh:

the sol is very, very low, i'm sure Martyn can confirm from Sunday there, it's a PITA to get in and out of :laugh:

the cinq doesnt look low because of it's shape...the seats are on the floor almost though, even at 6ft 2 i have nearly half a foot of headroom :laugh:

being low in the cinq scares everyone :D theres not much metal to protect you :laugh:
 
And for those with Lowered Cento's (James, Mark & Ming & Steve M) it would be see who's car's the lowest.
James's Ciqn from what I have seen on FB is stupidly low, Ming's isn't quite that low, but still very low, I've only seen photo's of Steve's Sei & Mark's Cinq, so I can't really say what their like height wise to sit in.

As much as I liked the Sei when I had it, the GP's just soooooo much better, apart from not being able to see over the end of the bonnet.
