EVO Magazine Integra vs Civic

Browsing PH over the last wee while, EP3 CTRs are getting near the £4k mark, which intrigues me ;) DC2 though for me as well, but the preferred '98 on spec are a bit above budget for me personally. Actually prefer the single headlight unit look of most of the jdm versions over the twin arrangement of the ukdm myself as well, gives a cleaner shape I reckon though it's all about the drive with the Teg of course :)

Seen the "cheaper" S2k's myself, would love to stretch to one but doubt I'll be able to this year at least. Plus a soft top parked in Paisley - I'm not so sure lol

Honda wise, think I could probably go down the Civic or CRX route. I'm still kind of wanting an s14a for some rwd action though I've started looking at Impreza's again as well...decisions, decisions :D

starting see civic type r as low as 2.5k now, lot of fast, reliable car for the cash but id have thought they may have had 'interesting' lives at this end of the market....

iv owned several hondas, love them..honda, for me, along with subaru, are the only japanese manufacturers with soul..sure they make some grey porage type run of the mill cars, but iv always seen honda as an japanese version of lancia..(as they were in the glory days..) they make superbly engineered cars, mostly understated but with fantstic integrity, high revving jewel like twin cam engines that are balanced and fluid to drive...iv had three civic coupes and they were astonishingly good little cars....oh, and a two crx...and a brace of preludes..and....well, ya get the drift, i likes hondas me....

if honda could make a shell that lasts as half as long as an engine they would be great cars but they just cant do it for some reason maybe the new generation of cars might make a bit longer but still likes the S2000 the car shell are just crap as the paint on the s2000 is the thinnest paint ive ever seen on a car

Can't agree more :D Massive honda fans myself. Civic/Integra are just amazing cars! Is not just the engine is great is the whole suspension set up that makes it a great car!

How many car at that age you know comes with rear toe in.out adjustment as standard? That is how far honda has gone into making the car!

Ma del sol not have a single spot of rust before I crashed it :( . And that was made in 1992. ON the other side od the argument my bro civic is rusty as hell :( . Also lots of japanese car at that age will rust, they were not made to with standard the salty roads of UK :( .

and the new civic, serioulsy, if you tap a new civic with your fingernail you can chip the pain through to the primer.

really like some hondas, but getting one rust free (or at least with not much rust)is really hard. the last gen type r's are amazing value now

got a scot ads the other day and there is 6 type rs in it for sale the last gens there is bloody loads o them on the market now was even tempted by them but silly road tax puts me off it :D

one of the cleanest crx around loved it..would love a vti version

Pre-May (I think) 2006 cars don't have the absolute top modern tax costs and that's pretty much when the EP3 gave way to the much maligned FN2 with it's crap rear suspension set up.

Have to say, I'm branching out my search for other Honda's beyond a CTR and Teg's. Had been looking at Prelude's as the 2.2, even the later more powerful ones are pretty cheap now. But also looking at the older EG Civics, though there's not many of the top spec engined Coupes about in that version. Most are the later EK/EJ versions, which I don't think look quite as good most of the time. Did see this one the other day though...

...which I thought was pretty decently done :)

I dunno though, as I've said before I'm open to quite a few different motors and not all Jap. Even if I did highlight that 300zx on Facebook the other day :D
