Having just been out to the back garden and discovered the patio is more project car green than silver granite it's time I bought a pressure washer (any excuse ;) ) Had a quick google and read a few reviews and now I'm trying to decide between the Karcher K2 Compact Home or the Nilfisk C110 4-5 PC Xtra. The Karcher is slightly ahead but mainly because it's cheaper. What's everyone's opinions on Karcher vs Nilfisk and what would you go for?

Also, would either be able to remove the oil stain Yellow left on my driveway

I bought a nilflisk... but only cos argos had it on a deal for £50. That was 2 years ago and it's still not seen water yet.

If you want to see if it works I have a patio you can try it out on ;)

Nilfisk is a metal pump and gets great reviews from detailers the karcher is a plastic pump and docent get 5 stars I will be upgrading at some point soon for a nilfisk just cause of the metal pump and reviews

Cheers, that's the sort of information I'm looking for. I think I'll keep an eye out for offers on Nilfisk

I got a K2 from...somewhere? B&Q maybe? £60 I paid for it. Does 3 cars, the patio, and the windows (and the toilet/wet room). Think it's the best bit of kit I've ever bought!

Is the reason it's not seen water because by the time you'd put it together you'd lost the will to live? The bastarding thing looked really easy too but the wheels were a complete pain in the arse as they refused to slot on and then the sodding centre caps kept popping out too. I've got it sorted now but it's gone cloudy and rain is imminent so it's getting stashed in the shed probably never to see the light of day again

I got quite lucky really, bought a cheap ass no namer pressure washer in Homebase years ago now with no planning or research at all beforehand and it turns out it's sat in the corner of the garage gathering dust every bit as effectively as more powerful upmarket models would have done. Lasted over 10 years now.

I have a day off, it's not raining and there's not much else planned today so I have no excuse not to have a clean patio, driveway and car by the end of the day.

It won't happen will it

You cheeky sod

Car's done and driveway's partly done however I had to stop as I was throwing up mud on next door's cars. Ok, they having moved in months/years but I still don't feel right coating them in gubbons in the name of getting my driveway clean. I'll discuss it with him later and offer to cover them with groundsheets if he's bothered.

As for the nilfisk, I'm slightly disappointed that I'm getting leaks from the nozzles. Is that normal?

Had my Niklfisk for a few years now and no leaks. The black pressure hose will drive you nuts after a while though, it always wants to curl up and get in the way ;)
