oh god, rear brake pipe corroded, wee bit of welding on ns sill BUT handbrake passed hahahaha oh last bit should be on a different post lol

theres not much i can do to the bottom end though, the engine is about as far developed as it can go without going down the really expensive route for not much more gains

the only way i can realisticly upgrade now is to change the engine configuration, either capacity wise (1.4), injection type (mpi) or valve number (16)...or all three :laugh:

having just had the head have a few tweaks though, its not quite viable atm
 
ah i understand now, im thinkin of engine upgrade as 899 lacking in many ways 83 pages on your project cento thread, bit daunting to read lol is there a condensed version?

yeah, it reads.....

buy a bmw instead, much less hassle :laugh:

for 899 to 1.1/1.2 best speak to ming or rallycinq (and i think James), they have carried out the conversions :) the only engine swap i've done is on a sporting so not sure what the story is with the mounts

:laugh: nice one dude i had a robin reliant go faster than ma cinq btw (its a 3 wheeler btw for you young uns!)
 
new entry....people saying i've broke the cinq already

erm....how did i manage to break piston rings in under 24 hours, the symptoms are old ones that keep reccuring and have done for over a year. it get's ****ing tiresome hearing the same things when people don't have the the faintest idea how a) that car gets treated and b) how the problem that's there isn't one that tends to happen suddenly

16v sorted :) . Also did you give the piston a thumb test when the head is off ~~?

no dont buy a bmw ,, they all the owners have small willys
and yes (my brother has converted my car 899 to 1242 a good 6 year ago and its still running strong

sort of...i never really suspected the rings until now but the piston all got a good clean up and examination, the seemed fine but there was oil on piston one....i thought it was just squirt from the head getting lifted off and the oil line being blocked though...seems not :laugh:

been reading into the 1.4 16v conversions alot again, tbh it's starting to look a more viable prospect instead of repairing this lump again...time to make a few calls i think :)
