Whats made you Smile today

I'm having a really positive day today. I've finally got round to doing lots of little jobs that have been building up and annoying me but not enough to make me get on with them.

Next job is to kick myself off here and go and harvest the rhubarb. Gonna make rhubarb crumble later :)

seeing a nissan qashqai get written off

that's one less on the roads :)

Was it an original or face lift? Have admitted before, I really like the face lift models an would have preferred one with a decent gearbox over the X3.

Would've been even better if it had been a Nissan Joke sorry I mean Juke :D

Day off today (yay)

All Joke owners should be taken out and shot for encouraging such an ugly looking car. imo nissan have lost it a little, the latest micra is a tad ugly too. Bring back the cube, all is forgiven lol

Agree on the Nissan Juke, one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen though apparently dynamic wise it's rather decent. Not a fan of most modern Nissan's, can't stand the 370Z for example - I think it's massively fussy and awkward looking compared to the 350. Ironically the only Nissan I can think of offhand that I like the look of is the GTR :p

Oh and another addition to this thread - new Thundercats is pretty good. Nice mix of decent narrative, voice acting and animation :)

i utterly detest the qashqai and puke in equal measures

my main issue with qashqais is the fact i've never encountered one that hasn't in some way nearly caused a massive accident. they are always either pulling out infront of me meaning i need to slam on the brakes (happens almost every journey these days with qashqais), trying to squeeze through gaps that arent there or just not checking whats in a lane before pulling out (on several occasins very nearly into the side of vehicles)

i can only assume from this that the visibility is utterly horrendous or drivers think they can nip out infront of other vehicles and find out they cant because it's so slow its practically a moving road block

i truly ****ing hate them. it cant be all the drivers because i've never had that issue with one type of car before and it happens in every town ive driven in consistently, im not the only one whos noticed it either, heard quite a few people saying they narrowly avoided getting ran into by them, almost every night for the past 3 months in the local newspaper theres been stories on car accidents in the region, 2 a week involve a nissan qashqai, theres clearly something very wrong with the cars themselves when thats the case IMO

ideally a qashqai will one day come across a nissan puke in this way and both will be written off in one glorious incident doing the world a massive favour, i'll be the one at the roadside doing backflips and cartwheels as soon as i know everyones ok and the world has two less monstrositys).

although the puke will come out of the accident better looking than it went in

totally agree nissan have lost the plot. no coincidence they share technologies with renault, genuinely think Nissan are using rejected renault designs. it's the only excuse for the utterly bizarre range of cars they currently serve up

iirc there was a 6-8month waiting list for QQ's when we went to test drive it, they produce 1500pm and sell 1700pm causing the shortfall. I couldn't fault the visibility, everything was excellent other than the 5spd gearbox on the 1.6 petrol. The QQ is high on the mobility/lease car list which I think attracts a less attentive driver. Certainly round here the majority of nissan drivers are oap's and naturally there reactions/awareness will have deteriorated to a certain extent. I do often wonder how some of these mobility people get to retain there licences, never mind get a car. Although that's a whole other subject lol

Rob, Thundercats certainly sounds a worthy view, especially with Emmanuelle Chriqui being the voice of Cheetara, meow!

A mate of mine was going to buy a Qashqai as a family car. He ended up getting an IS220d but then punted that due to running costs and got a 1.2 5dr Corsa. Random car choices and their debated qualities aside, I thought the Nissan was the most practical choice. It's won a few awards and looks pretty inoffensive compared to afore mentioned models but I agree some of their drivers are questionable in ability. They seem to have taken over from Citroen Picasso drivers in that respect

And yeah Rich, it was refreshing to see they hadn't mucked it up. Oh and Cheetara was one of my first crushes as a kid along with Janet Ellis of Blue Peter fame
