shiney :D

how does that sit on the engine to connect to the exhaust? is the exhaust mani on the back of the engine or does it just have a really curvy downpipe? quite a strange shape for a front engined car

Yeah the engine is backward you not remember the huge throttle body on the inlet at the front :)

aye, had a feeling that'd be the case :) the engine is a revised one thats used in the mr2 so it kinda makes sense that it would be able to be fitted backwards or forwards :D

Ah yes. I'll say no more.

And Muppet - got to admit, growing tired of my HTC. Nothing but problems just now, beginning to wish I'd gone for the Nokia instead!

I think rooting it's meant to help. At least then, you can get 2.3 which is far better on the battery and perhaps more stable. I just can't be bothered reading up on it the now and would prefer to just have a reliable phone that doesn't have problems like the HTC does. I'm amazed by how much I've missed apps - had to delete so many on that Desire to make space :D Shame that a lot of new ones aren't supported on the 3G though :/

Course, I could always sell the Desire on and make £150 odd on it which is tempting :)

are you using the old desire caus i have no problems with mine whatsoever and now running 2.3 for better battery life im on the htc desire HD

Pass.

TO give you an idea, mines randomly won't let me call folk, often the touch pad is very slow...then there's things like selecting a text message to read and the phone jumping half way down the list and opening a random text.

Add to that the flash is ****ed, as is the camera, and I just want shot of it now!

Got mine in January, so figured shouldn't have any of the initial problems I'd guess. The main issue is the space on the phone. Runs out massively quickly due to apps updating and taking up more space and many can't be transferred to the SD due to either the phone not letting you (I know there's ways of getting round it) or the widget not working due to putting it on the SD (Mixzing music player being an example). Also, I think it possibly doesn't like the SD card I've bought as in Maps and a few other apps it'll throw up a problem with the card even though I've formatted via the phone and checked it with PC diagnostic tools.

Have to say though, that apart from that there's numerous things about the Desire that bug me. I hate the keyboard compared to the iPhone's - so imprecise in comparison. Miss the dedicated switch on the side for going to silent mode as well. It is little things, but I guess I'm needing weaned off the Apple cult and the Desire (so far at least) hasn't done it for me.

Shall maybe come back to it and root it in coming weeks to get to 2.3 and see how it goes. Just enjoying the Apple-y goodness the now lol

Oh and also, given my current status I'm loving the state of my bank account - healthiest it's ever been and the irony of that's not lost on me. Definitely won't last though
