Alternative Fuels

Alternative Fuels

Well, that's what I mean!

In all seriousness, I was looking at alternative ways of powering the diesel car I had, but it seemed a legal minefield if you were to be stopped. In this day and age of 'climate danger' surely the government could back down and allow vehicles to be powered by green fuels, after all it's the planet they're trying to save and not another case of filling coffers?

Maybe there is no stance against such fuels, but it just seems such a grey area that the risk isn't worth it.

Did you guys read this morning about the impending food shortages and forest devastation from increasing agricultural activities regarding bio-fuels?

Pretty interesting reading, as usable land is quite scarce.

I do find government policy regarding bio-fuel extraordinarily greedy. For example, a chips shop buys veg oil - tax is paid on it. The old oil is cleaned and processed and put in a car but the treasury want 25p a litre for doing nothing?!?!? Surely it'd be better to give it away for free rather than have it put on a landfill or what not...crazy.
