I've been looking at this for a few days and I'd like opinions if anyone's used it before?

The idea is to use it for holding on my licence plates - easy to remove come an event so my reg doesn't end up all over the place yet strong enough to resist weather and general wear and tear. I also dislike having visible screw, on my last car I used heavy duty tape.

Also, I'd like some new plates - with no holes in :D - any recommendations for good quality, reasonably price plates?

So long as you can make the tape stick to the car and to the plate strongly enough it shouldnt be a problem...but obviously makes your plates easily theivable!

I just use Silicone to keep mine on, and my plate is easily recognisable...although not as much as the one i am planning on buying in the summer!

And plates are 6 and half a dozen...most places charge the same anyway unless you want something fancy!

I was thinking about the plates being thievable but then the chances of someone randomly trying licence plates in the hope they come off is quite low I imagine...unless there's a rogue group of fetishists I don't know about.

Just thinkin -Mark might come up and do it for fun one evening - don't you even think about it sonny-jim!!!

Well first chance I get I'm off with yer plates! :p

but seriously, if we have rogue dust cap thievery going on, where a shiny new set last less than 12 hours on a car, then the chances are that someone may decide to steal a number plate! hell...the twice my rear one fell off there was no sign of them at all on the road that I had travelled (which wasnt very far! ).

Ah, but dustcaps can be used on another car, plus they are shiny - easy for the morons to spot

Well there we go in black and white now...the proof that people steal number plates! As if by magic, one of my mates has just posted on his Bebo:

""Imagine stealing some1's reg plate!! Gggrrrr, go in to pub, reg plate on car, come out of pub and its gone! shockin."

It could happen to you! Be afraid, be very afraid!!!

lol, I just can't get my head round the whole pointlessness of it. What kind of world is this where not even a man's licence plate is safe!!!
