Well just wanting to let you all know what happened yesterday.

Someone from somewhere decided to crash the site as a backup was being done which mucked up the site totally luckily i had a stripped back version backed up on my desktop, but when I went to restore the site the server was in such a bad state I had to reboot it.

On a plus side i have installed some new stuff updated the site and hopefully stopped the people that did this from doing it again I have also got more local backups and a redundancy plan so if it goes pear shaped again we should be able to recover quicker than we did this time.

Sorry to everyone for this happening but hey ho the world still spins

You realise I was beginning to take it personally... I get back from a busy week away and find one of my favourite toys has broken :eek:h:

Good to see we're back and I can now bore you all with stories of my trip away ;)

and no, that is not a good enough reason for the site to "accidentally" go down again

Sorry about the downtime last night folks, we're trying to fix it so it doesn't happen again and we'll keep you posted on developments. Unfortunately we lost most, if not all, of the posts made yesterday so if one of yours is missing I promise it wasn't deleted by us
