My fuel injection Spider 2000 starts and runs great when cold, however once it is at running temps it starts to sputter and die out, then it will not start, it will turn over normally and try to catch but will not run. It is as if it isnt getting its fuel. I suspect one of the fi relays but it is expensive to keep changing them.
I would appreciate any thought on this. Thanks

I would have thought the opposite.. running too rich..

Fuelling not 'leaning off' as temperatures rise..

A cold engine can tolerate it.. a hot one cannot

Worth checking the basics:

Fuel supply pump working ..hot vs cold

Temperature gauge keeping track of what hose temps are telling you

Pull a spark plug when it has cough stalled.. dry..or wet with fuel?

Where in Scotland are you?

For sure the problem is the cranckshaft sensor. This is one of the way they do when they don't work anymore: they work ok on cold, but when gets hot, don't work anymore, send no signal to the ECU and therefore ECU injects no fuel. Replace the cranckshaft sensor and problem solved.
You can mesure it with a multimetre first. Connect the multimetre to the sensor's pins, being set on voltage and get a wrench near the top of the sensor and move it close an away. The sensor will produce voltage. Get the sensor very hot (with a hair dryer) then test it again, you will see there's no voltage.
