So the engine in my 500 is died (moment of silence) !
But got new engine for it for $400, and it has 60000 less km on it.
Buddy and I r changing it on wknd.
So is it hard or not ?

Probably simplest to raise body and drop engine and gearbox down.. :)

Do (check) clutch while its a 10 minute job.. :)

Complications will be aircon system ;).. and odd connections on hoses

assuming its the 1.2 it shouldn't be too hard to swap. A mechanic friend of mine had the clutch out on one of these cars in about 15 minutes. (I could never do it in that time)

The aircon isn't a problem just unbolt the compressor from the engine and leave it in the car while the engine is out, should avoid having to mess about gassing the system later.

i'd be interested to know how you managed to kill the engine as well. They take a serious amount of abuse these little fiat engines.

I got oil changed.
Think they cracked housing but havn't got anywhere with company. Yet !
Oil light fluickered on 401 at 110kmh and as i was pulling off rd it spewed all his oil out.
Had it towed home. Filled oil engine cranked fine then a big clunk. Now nada.
Put convertible back on rd.

Hi..

AFAIK these are multiair motors..
If its lost its oil pressure.. it cant inject fuel

There are 'parameters' that have to be met..and potentially a few things reset

Did you figure out why it dumped the oil..?

No havn't yet.
Goin threw a rough patch.
Car is parked at mothers house so havn't had access at moment for long enough.
Can i reset things or dealer have to ?
