We've got a few MOT prediction threads on the go around the site and I thought we could do with a dedicated sticky. It's quite simple, when your MOT is due post the details here and ask for predictions of pass or fail. All that's needed is

make (if it's not a Fiat)
model
age
any other details you think pertinent

I guess I'd better get the ball rolling then. MOT is tomorrow, car is a Grande Punto 1.6 sporting on a '59 plate and it has given me a few problems over the past year. I think it may have been built on a Friday afternoon [attachment=1:3mpwoq97]rolleyes.gif[/attachment:3mpwoq97] Main problem was a broken water pump which led to lost coolant and a leaking radiator. All fixed now though and touch wood it's behaving itself although the mileage did start flashing on Sunday evening. A wee trawl of FF says it may eventually need a proxi alignment but as it's not doing it any more I'm gonna ignore it for now :D

Oh and it's getting serviced prior to the MOT.

So folks, pass or fail?

Depends on where you are taking it.. friendly garage... pass, tyre fitting national chain... fail.

Trusted garage so perhaps the question in this case is will it pass without major work...

The garage had to really fight to obtain MOT testing status due to it's proximity to other test stations and only got the go ahead a couple of years ago so consequently it's scrupulously tough on tests. But they're decent so will contact me first to get the ok if there's anything expensive that needs to be done for a pass.

Passed with absolutely no problems.

Garage gave me a wee scare by phoning at 15:45 as they usually only call if there's a problem but it was to warn me they were closing early and the car was ready. So taxed (last ever paper disc) and tested for another year :)

not gonna count on it with the teuchter car. Last year I swear it preferred to be at the garage which is a mile out of Ellon rather than on my driveway. I just hope Friday's visit hasn't reminded it how quiet it is out there cos if I'm going to have to go through all that nonsense again I'll be getting rid of it lol
