Hey. Finaly got the seized alternator out my sei.... over-complicated is an understatment. Hour n a half jst for an alternaror. Anyway. Point is i need a new one as mine is seized and has a big crack along it (didnt expect that bit.lol). Anyway my question is anyone know where i can get a good one for under 60 quid? 60 is probably a reasonable price but given that everythin else is so cheap i think there must b ones bout 40ish. Anyone know where to look? Cheers

Sweet. Let me know then. Theres one on ebay at 60 n its the cheapest i can find so if the time runs out il probably get it. But let me know. Cheers. Helpful as always.

hey. found another refurbed one, thanks anyway though... btw does the 1.1 have a tensioner on them? I don't have aircon. I think by the look of it the crank turns the alternator and that's it. It didn't have a belt when I got it that's why i'm not sure. just had a seized alternator poking out.lol. pics or diagrams would help if any are available...thanks

there is 1 at FS h but since you got 1 the alternator is just crank driven the tensioner is timing belt only so you put new belt on and tightin up the alternator and jobs a good un dunno how it took an hour and half though but i guess if you tried fromt he top it be a bitch lol its just as simple as it looks belt wise on 1 side and then on the other nothing inbetween

Thats brilliant. Thanks. Yeh we tried from the top then just put it on stands. Hour trying from top. Half hour when we got under (in the dark with mobile phone torches btw.lol.so not to bad). but even then one of the bolts got jammed on what i think is an engine mount. Never worked on a fiat before. Just need to get used to the way they do things i guess.lol. but thanks for all the help. Sure il b asking somthing new next week.

yeah the long bolt hits the mount but is wiggled easily enough to get it out did it couple weeks ago lol
